True words from Cyrus King.
Unfortunately most americans got brainwashed by Dick, Donald and Condi and think there is really need for a war against terror.
And I'm angry that most people think jews = good and muslims = bad.

Well every country has its political agendas and its interests, and in times like these, Id rather be friend with a Jew then a muslim. I dont think all muslims are bad, in fact i think a very small portion is bad which is causing all of this problems, and I think that most Muslims in the Middle East are far behind then the Jews are. Jews are more modern, more civilized, look at Muslims, living in caves like its 2000 years ago. Everytime you look at the TV, you see Osama with his friends in caves like non humans, and you guys want to support them over the Jews, I choose not too.

Why would someone strap a bomb to themselves and detonate it on a bus knowing full well they will not survive? The mentalities at work are essentially the same. To some the destruction of Isreal would be a deed so great that the destruction of Iran would be a justifiable cost. If the killing of 6 jews on a bus is glorious then certainly the destruction of half the jews on the plantet would be as well and would be martyrs don't pay any mind to cost-benefit analysis.
Do I think that Iran really intends on nuking Isreal, no, but it is not totally improbable.

Comparing an uneducated, poor Palestinian who has no job, no food, nothing to do, no ambitions and no hope for a better life, a boy who has grown up among Hamas and Hamas terrorists are his hero - he will obviously grow up one day to be like his hero and tie himself with bombs and blow himself up. And comparing this poor Palestinian guy with President of Iran a rich established country with good economy and life; is not very convinving. The mentalities at work are not essentially the same.

Wrong: The culture of terror has nothing to do with wealth or education. If you don't believe me, look at the 9-11 hijackers, or Osama himself.

This certainly has alot to do with the Palastinian problem. The education is all wrong really. I have seen footage of 3/4 year lds carrying machine guns. It is what they grow up with and why the cycle continues.
i have on the other hand seen a story of a Palestinian who donated the organs of his son who was shot dead by israeli army, knowing the organs were going to a jewish child. This man has done more to change the way people think than the US UN negotiators.
And to say that muslims are bad jews are good is stupid. All societies have their bad elements. Look at Oklahoma. They guy was a christian (my understanding).

Tim McVeigh was a Nazi who put too much faith in the Turner Diaries. To call him an average Joe is a bad comparison.

Although you do have a valid point, you still cannot compare the life of a palestinian to the life of a rich mullah government and say they have the same mentality with respect to destroying israel.
Each situation is different.

palestinians have nothing to live for. No economy, unemployment and constant occupation byt he 4th most powerful miliatry in the world.
Irans leaders have something to live for... a country that they OWN and RULE and want to KEEP.

This is where we differ in opinion; I believe all Islamic terror is of the same nature, the same root, and it has nothing to do about being oppressed, poor, or having something to live for.
If terror's root was as easy to pinpoint as to say that it comes from being oppressed, or being poor, or being educated, or all three, you would have seen terror sprout across the world in Africa, South America, Korea, Tibet, and so on...
Many now deceased Palestinian sucide bombers, had families, good educations, and fair salaries, they had reasons to live for, but they chose not to.
I don't want to divert this thread to the examiniation of the philosophies of a suicide bomber, so I'll just say it like this:
Israel can't take Iran's threats lightly and it would be highly negligent of them to dismiss them off-hand.
Iran urging on Israel's destruction is one thing.
Iran urging on Israel's destructions while possessing the capabilities to do it is another.

I dont think Irans GOAL is to destroy israel. How would that benefit them? Its all rhetoric like i said.. just like many political leaders use to intimidate others.
Do you honestly think that Irans main goal is to destroy israel? There are more important things to do like control the fickle young university students who are the governments REAL threat.
Posted by Purple on Jan-26-2006 10:27:
Iran's president is only trying to win muslim people's heart and muslim nations sympathy by showing his hatred for Israel so openly.

What one has to live for is less important to this discussion then what one has to die for. Your thinking is flawed. You believe that palestinians are willing to kill themselves because they have nothing, this is incorrect, they are killing themselves because the believe their goal to be the worth any sacrafice. If the leadership of Iran believes that Isreal must be destroyed at all costs including the destruction of their own country then the threat of mutually assured destruction means very little. It all comes down to conviction. If the conviction to destroy Isreal is strong enough then Iran will manufacture the means and exercise those means regardless of consequence. It would be a suicide attack on a large scale.

Cause by watching fox news you don't need to see the real world, or something else that would prove your opinions wrong?
Posted by Lepanto on Jan-26-2006 15:28:
Cause Al Jazeera will offer you the REAL world because they are completely unbiased and only show the real story, not something that would contribute to their own agenda.

Oh. What should people watch then? Cause if Fox and Al Jazeera or Al Arabia or CNN or BBC or all just as bad then where to get info from? You do realize smaller services tend to be "contreversial" to get their name out there so you can't trust those news "agencies/services" either.
Posted by Purple on Jan-26-2006 15:46:
Only CNN and Fox is poor.
All other chanels are pretty ok to get your info from.

BBC and CNN are good - I'm not sure what everyone's problem with the latter is. Like I've always said, if it's pissing off the extreme left and the extreme right, then it must be doing something right.
As for Fox News vs Al Jazeera, I've never seen Al Jazeera live, but there is no way it could be compared to the openly partisan shittiness of Fox News. I think Al Jazeera will always necessarily pander to an Arabic audience, but that doesn't mean that they aren't fairly reputable as a news organisation. There have been several times where they've broken (accurate) stories long before the Western media got a hold of them.

Exactly, I use both of these as my major international news sources.

And I'm sure that none of those stories were set up and intentionally sent to Al-Jazeera, and thus the Arabic world first, right? When Al-Jazeera sells it's air spots to bin laden, we can all rest assured that there's no foul play involved in their network or any sort of bias behind their broadcast.
Also, I never said that Fox is any good. Quite the opposite actually. But when you look at most news services. There's little difference between em.
