glad to hear i wasn't the only one about the mylo tune.. now was i just way to wasted or was it a mashup of drop the pressure and drop the beat?

Echomen Remix? Something new?

Posted by naillil on Jan-30-2006 14:17:

Decided to go to TIL at 10:30 after a fantastic dinner at Bymark.

Was worried we wouldn't get in because we didn't have guestlist and when I saw all the people outside I thought for sure we wouldn't get in. So we sat in the regular line up which moved really quickly and way faster that then the Guestlis line. We were in after about half hour.

What was with the coat check?!? It was a 'dead end' so as soon as you squeezed through all those people to get your jacket checked, you had to squeeze all the way back to get to the club. Not the smartest set up IMO.

And, what was with the bouncers on the stairs only allowing a few people down the starirs at a time... never seen that before but I guess it wasn't such a bad idea considering that place was rammed.

I've never been in a club that was so packed. You couldn't even move. It was pretty tough to dance. We were front and centre when Deep Dish came on and before we knew it, we had slowly drifted (actually pushed) to the far right, next to a large totem pole thing.

The music was great though. What a tease opening with like 10 sec of Say Hello. Lots of great music but too bad my feet were in pain! Since it wasn't a planned night, I was wearing stiletto boots from Aldo (one of the most uncomfortable pairs of shoes I have.) Had to sit down every 10 min or so - couldn't take it. Which was too bad, would have loved to stay for the end. Heard they didn't play the full 8 hours - that's a little disappointing.

So we left around 2:30 and despite all the minor complaints, it was a great night and glad I went.

TIL has the best decor. That was my second time there and I'll be sure to go back.

Never mind, I'm guessing by some of the people posting they played trance (wtf?) it was not Echomen.

I don't think I'd ever heard it before...

Considering we waited in line for over an hour, had numerous 'regulars' of the club claiming they 'knew the owner' proceeding to push their way to the front of the line, the guy at coat check snapping at me to hurry up with my jacket (fuck you buddy, i'll keep my toonie tip now bitch), then enter the club and literally shoulder to shoulder for the first two hours.... surprisingly, i had a smile on my face the whole time.

Sharam started things off very fun and clubby, dishin out a lot of mainstream stuff (i'm guessing to appeal to the numerous Vagino's in the crowd at the time)... it was lots of fun, and an excellent way to start things off. Ali took over about two hours in, and took us on a journey to the dark side.... more tribal, reverberating basslines, and sick build ups..... i think this was the first time i liked Ali more than Sharam, and this was the seventh time i've seen DD. Around 3:30 was when we could really start to get into things, as the crowd had thinned out by then. They played until 6am, then without warning - HOLY FUCKING STAR LIGHT STAR BRIGHT - the lights come on. I think management thought this would be enough to make everyone want to leave. Nope. We wanted more. And as they usually do, DD finished the set off with some 'lights on' tunage.

I think the thing that made this party so amazing was the solid TA presence felt all night long. Nice to see all the usual suspects, and nice meeting Lisa, and Nuera (sorry dude, forgot your name). Cant wait to see RJ's pics.... especially 'the nose plug stinker pic'. HAHA.

See you next week for Scummers, 7, and BeeSee.

[Flashback of the night]While in line, some dude is trying to find out who does guestlist for TA, so i tell him.... John.... ummm... McClain. He looks at me.... 'are you sure man?'. I reply with the most serious look on my face "SHOOT... THE GLASS". Everyone thought i was on crack, except for Del and Ari. Thanks for keeping the crickets away boys. [/Flashback of the night]

- I had a good time because of the company I was with, bad had you guys not been there, I would have been pretty dissapointed.
- This is London is a very nice club, with a great sound system. I can definately see myself going back.
- Deep Dish's set was a dissapointment. Besides Sharam's first 2 hours, the set was meh.
- To make things even worse, when Ali finally hit the decks to start playing what sounded like the tunes I wanted to hear all night, he got cut short after only playing a few songs. Wtf was that? I've read through the thread, and I have yet to read an explanation for this. They played less than 6 hours out of an advertised 8 hour set.

I read on Tribe that they were forced to shut down early due to noise complaints.

In related news... Floorwhore smells bullshit.

agreed

I found that they would start off playing a few tracks I knew, and I would be there singing along...and all of a sudden it would be a 'wtf?' and something totally friggen diff. don't get me wrong, i love listening to old stuff, but if you are gona have a set for the OFFICIAL George Is On tour, I expect to hear the majority of tracks from the cd, and some mainstream fun stuff the whole crowd is gona get driven from... just my humble opinion.

the cd has been out for a while now, for them to play the majority of the tracks from it would make for a pretty dated set.

Well...from the looks of it I don't regret not attending this. For someone who has yet to experience Deep Dish, I would've been extremely pissed if I was there and had to deal with all that BS, especially the set being cut short.

I'll save my Dish experience for MTL

Ditto, sir. I would say it looks like a great night out but glad I am saving my next DD experience for BeB. Granted, tens of thousands of peeps is a lot but I'm hoping for a nice, big venue.
