well, it is trance addict, you guys have had or still do have some appreciation for trance, and if not, you cant miss any of the posts praising JOB or asking when JOB is coming back, or advertising a JOB set or something... the average house head in New York that knows who Morillo, Calderone, Tenaglia, JP, and Boris is, and no1 else, is not likely to know who JOB is... i think spending money on a Clubplanet email blast wasnt the best idea either because of the amount of people that are into those artists (and no1 else) or the other 75% of people on that site that go to the "see and be seen" spots and lounges...

See, I think it still could have been useful if maybe the owner used it to promote the venue as a place for EDM events. Maybe weeks in advanced so that it could generate some buzz. People would probabley kept there ears open for events. I'm starting to convince myself that that venue hurt the gig alot, it not having a reputation for dance events.

i've been posting on CP for almost 4 years now and i can tell you that the NY and NJ board have the most narrow minded people posting there

The music was so good that the security was even dancing. Posted some pic's @ http://www.imagestation.com/album/p...l?id=2109134716 also have some vid's with audio of Bamak with his glo sticks.

when in doubt, personally attack the person youre arguing with... im starting to understand how things run here in NYTA... act your age

It's the same at L.A. TA as well.

I thought I could find refuge from that in the NYTA forum....

Smiley DJ Great Party!

My boyfriend has recently turned me on to Trance. I Love It!!! I would have to say that Armin and Tiesto are my favorites!!! My First Trance Party was at Providence where Jon O'bir, Daveyboy, and Skillz played! O'bir played a great set just wished it had been longer and more people had showed up. Just wanted to say THANK YOU for making my first party so fun! Can't wait to see Jon O'bir again!

Some pics got blurry. When I get em fixed, I'll upload the rest. And ignore the dates. Everytime I put a new battery in this blasted thing, it resets the date

How about you like listening to what you like and leave it at that? So lame.

Also, on the front of music appreciation - I will agree that the culture in many European countries is much more open to dance music in comparison to North America... Over here most people have no idea what 'Dance' music is - and all EDM is 'Techno'.

The real question is why are househeads on TA....shit there is even someone on here called TranceHater

Well the majority of the older TA's here were inniated into dance music through trance, myself including, artisting including; Union Jack, Oliver Lieb, BT, Matt Darey, Oakenfold etc.

Now over the years trance has become stagnant forumalic and generic, while house has become varied with many sub genres. While trance has just refined itself to the formlaic build up break down build up. Not to mention the ever so present "supersaw"(which IMO sounds shit a big FU to mr ferry corsten for that one).

Another reason is maybe that some of us became so interested in trance we wanted to know what it stemmed from. This would be my main reason for switching I began collecting classic house records in early 2000.

There is still good trance being produced, just the records are fewer and further inbetween.

Mathew Dekay - Heavan Can Wait

That is a great example of a trance track done right.

I have that record. But you call that Trance? In what way might I ask? It's a bit bright, but still has that proggy house elements in there.
