never ordered from them but thanks for the warning. they sound like really stupid mother******s
I think weve all gotta watch out for dodgey record shops. Shit liek this should not be tolerated! For the product were buying we can be easily ripped off because vinyl can be scratched & worn and torn. It's especialy helpful for overseas buyers because in most cases sending the records back is not a option.
I wish I lived in the UK, you guys have like a ration of 100:1 in amount of record shops. its not fair!
I have been using juno for as long as it has been around and i must say it is a top notch service!
Htfr records never seem to have any of the decent tunes that i like in, swines!
Hey, put the URL in the subject of this thread so more ppl will see
it and avoid it.
I'll have to order things from UK record shops in the future I'm sure, and I'll definetly not use these folks. F*ckin bastards...they should be put out of business!!
Ok a quick update on the whole htfr situation guys.
On xmas day i ordered this:
1 x MR76873 - VESTAX SLIPMATS - (LIGHT BLUE) 3D SWIRL SCRATCH MAT - PAIR -
Now i paid 5 uk bucks for the silver 2-5 day shipping.
2 weeks slowly passed >:|
This finally arrived this morning:
1 x MR76877 - VESTAX SLIPMATS - (BLACK) 3D SWIRL SCRATCH MAT - PAIR -
Hmmm. I dont remember ordering the BLACK MATS!
U can get these shitty things standard with decks for free! The whole reason i ordered a set of vestax mats for my techs was just becauce the 3d blue design was really funky and would look right at home in my studio!
So now have to go out of my way to get these black mats shipped back to them and get the blue ones shipped out to me (I am responsible for the extra delivery charges), and it looks like it will be a few more weeks until i get the items i actually ordered.
I have been tryin to think what has caused this, perhaps it was through negligence or just not caring to read what i actually ordered.
Perhaps they where out of stock, no cause the would have sent an email informing me that they where out of stock and to give me the choice of what to instead of just thinking "fuck it, send him the black ones it wont matter".
Wouldnt they?
Planet - X...... There stock is a joke. Tried to get like 4 titles that where definatly suppose to be in stock (I was in dissbelief but the site looked very professional so I continued) . Browsed around for more "filler" records to make the order feasable.
Got just the Filler records, not one of the stellar tracks that lured me to buy from them. They ship what they have and piss on you.
To me????? FALSE ADVERTISIING!!!
Have ordered from most sites, Delivery from 1 week to an agonizing 6 - 8 weeks. Never been RIPPED off, have gotten screwed orders from about every place i've ordered.
Complaints NONE. Before you complain listen...... WHERE would you buy records 10 years ago?? Today you point, click, and answer the door when they arrive. To me this is a Dream come true!!!!!!
I've only ever bought a couple of vinyls from HTFR, and probably will never use them again. Here's why:
- Slow service compared to other places
- Can be expensive compared to other places
But the real killer for me was when I've tried to get in touch with them. I've phoned a couple of times and found their phone manner to be extremely rude. I've also tried emailing them, and their email manner (when they actually reply, which seemed quite rare to me) isn't any better.
Admittedly I haven't used a wide range of online vinyl stores. I'm a sceptical person and it took me a while before I gave into my vinyl habit and attempted purchasing from the stores that I do use.
I think you can tell a lot about the service that you'll be getting from the the design of the store's website. For example, Juno has a very well designed site. It doesn't make you cream your pants over how incredible the webdesigner is at flash or anything, but most importantly, it displays what you want to see. Simple to navigate, the search works well, the results of a search will tell you everything you need to know about the release (catalog #, tracklist, label etc) in a very easy to read/comprehend format. My point is, this is what convinced me that they know what they are doing and they know what the customers' needs are. So now I use them and their service is great. I have only ever had one problem with them, which was that with one of my orders (out of the 5 I've placed) took 6 weeks to get here. When I spoke to them on the phone about it, I was told that this problem was the case with lots of other people who placed orders in the same period that I did... they had used another shipping company because the christmas rush meant things were very busy. I finally received my order on the 11th of Jan '03, after ordering it on the 28th of Nov '02. I think they've learnt their lesson, and I know it was something they couldn't really help.
The only other store that I've decided is worthy of my business is Chemical. At first I looked at their site and wasn't too sure about them... but I read lots of threads about what people thought of them and people tend to speak highly of chemical records. On top of that, they have quite a good selection which caters fairly well to my tastes. I've just placed my 4th order with them and am very happy buying from them.
Regarding HTFR, I've been to their site many times to see if they'd have those really hard to find records that I'd give an arm and a leg for... in short their site is shit, they look fucking dodgy, and after reading several threads with similar jists to this one, I wouldn't take the risk or waste my time.
Juno & Chemical are where it's at
...by the way, can anyone as sceptical as I am, recommend some other top notch services?
www.only-djs.com just f_cuked me over.
Another to join the ranks of DMF.co.uk....I feel for you bro....another one bites the dust...
My latest encounter with them was a bad one. Out of 16 records ordered, only 12 showed up. Bearing in mind that ONLY-They-Are-Twarts-DJS.com utilizes a up-to-date inventory count (so they claim). Neverfcukingmind, I wanted a refund. They told me that there is new credit system. So all my money's been tossed in there for safe-F_ucking-keeping. Why not my own bank I asked.....bunch of money and cock-suckers.
Emailed them with a totally antagonistic tone (which is the case of a daylight robbery). They refused to reply. Twarts. So I bombarded them with tons of emails. My $ 35 flew and disappeared into thin air.
All I can say is that they have no right whatsoever to determine my left-over money by keeping it as numerical digits in their so-called "CREDIT-MY-ARSE-" policy and what-not.
If you have thge f_ucking records, then update it.
If you do not, take it off your f_ucking site.
Don't f_ucking rob us, return your emails, you ONLY-DJS.com wankers..
F999
P/S At the end of the day, it only took $ 35.00 and your lack of decency to reply to customer's emails that land you in this crisis mode. I hope your record business will diminish with time...preferably by 2004. Serves you right for acting out this way....and so be it...

Originally posted by Narcissus www.dmf.co.uk ! They list all the stock the don't have. Claimed to be one of the world's best on-line record store.. they don't reply e-mails or their customer enquiry forms. I've ordered for 6 records including binary finary - 2000 and Oakenfold - prophet 1. The prices were listed 9 and 6 pounds respectively. Just received the package after 3 weeks of ordering and i've received oakenfold - prophet 1 in ok condition but they charged me 15 quids for it!!! And received binary finary 1999 on positiva which they charged me 9 quids!!! The shipping charges just topped it all off. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
have to agree
I defo agree with everyone about dance music finder. i live in birmingham and remember when they start off. it was ok at the begining but HMV and other stores were still better... I've seen the manager there and he is a complete Arse to his staff.....the place is bollox indeed.. they never have any stock.. and when they do get a sale they try and rip people off cos they probably aren't making a profit...
Definately one to avoid.
I've only ever bought vinyls from juno & dotvinyl (and occasionally HMV when i find a rarity) Never had a single problem with either, always comes within 2 days and good quality. Never tried htfr, the reason being that the huge amount of "stock" they hold is never in stock!
Having read people's experiences i certainly won't be using them now.
I've just been heart brokened by them again! It's not my fault i'm the sort of people who forgives and forget
HTFR = Currently selling Azareals reconstruction of East West - The Love I Lost
get a fucking grip lads
Read the first 3 pages and couldnt be bothered to read the others so if theres anything important ive missed sorry
In my experience, dotvinyl.com has never let me down yet but tidy.com's shop has always been absolutly fantastic for me! Ive only ever had one problem which was when I ordered some records and 2 copies of the Lab 4 album Virus on cd, I only recieved 1 copy. After ringing them and explaining the situation they appologised and they sent me another copy of it which arrived the following day.
Ok so its mainly hard house and hard trance, but they are top notch, and with my Tidy FC membership I get 10% off all tidy releases + other special deals.. Bonus
ive dealt with HTFR atleast a dozen times in the past yr and have never had a problem with prompt delivery or records being in stock. i do find it weird that so many have bitched about them maybe i am just lucky.
there fucking gash. ordered mine months ago and still hasnt come
cheers for the warning. shant be shopping here!
i've often shopped at uk-dancerecords.co.uk and i've always found them great. u have to get your orders in quick, 'coz they don't seem to gave large stocks, but delivery is well fast (once in under 24 hrs!) and all, so if i can find it there i grabs it.

HTFR, hmm
I AM STILL WAITING FOR MOONTRIBE DANCE OF THE SEVENTH HILL
having said that.. its been 4 months since i ordered.
I went to DMF yesterday and the place is a bit of a tip!
They have plenty of stock all right, and it's categorised reasonably, but they don't appear to have any form of stock monitoring system. ie. when a record is sold they have to remember to delete it off the system, no barcode lables or stock numbers like other stores.
I got a couple of tracks I wanted (real old stuff though). There was one I wanted that I saw on the website but the guy there said that he didn't think they had it and looked for it and counldn't find it.
I'd get stuff from there but never mail order, only if I actually went in, then you can be sure what you are getting.
ok, never order from www.nrgmusic.com!
they offer free shipping in the united states (their average vinyl is $10 though) so i ordered 5 about 4 months ago..
it took an entire month for me to get one of them. then it took 2 more weeks to get another one. so i canceled the rest of my order...
they take ridiculously long to get your order. what are they doing, walking to germany to pick them up???
