Alright so after driving around Oakville and Mississauga and picking everyone up we headed down to the guv. Got there at around 730 and there was already a lineup to the hot dog dude. We contemplated going in and waiting with the people but chose to stay in the warmth of the car and catch up on valuable drinking and yelling to Chemical Brothers time. A half an hour and a few Revs later, they decided to start letting the people in but by now the line up was nearly up to the streetlight. The line moved quickly and we waited only for about 20 minutes, which was extremely good news because I was getting Lawrer flashbacks. Got in right on time to listen to Freeland drop the dirty breaks. Ive listened to him before but first time seeing him live, wont be my last for sure.
I was in shock over the variety in the crowd. There was people with Mohawks standing beside Parasucoed out ginas and people wearing marlyn manson shirts next to people wearing polo shirts. Definite variety and everyone somehow got along. Very wicked to see and confirmed my theory on music bringing people together.
When Prodigy came on, everyone including myself was in disbelief. For me Prodigy and Scooter were the introduction to electronic music and to finally see them live was unreal.
They kicked ass playing every single hit, and with every single song the crowd got crazier and crazier. People were crowd surfing, there were mosh-pits and everyone was jumping like no tomorrow. The first hit which they dropped was Their Lawm everyone went nuts and you could barely hear anything over the non stop screaming. They ended up playing Firestarter, Poison, Breath, Voodoo People, Wake the Fuck up, No Good, Outer Space. Basically I was completely musically satisfied.
The line up for the coat check was about an hour long but having more than a couple Revs in me I managed to stay entertained. And int the process met a couple very cool people.
Basically music rocked, people were awesome and the night kicked ass. Hope to see them again but highly doubt it.
I met a shitload of people and everyone was cool. I do not know if I met any TAs, but I might have. If anyone remembers me please say something.
Five Lennin thumbs up out of five.
WAKE THE FUCK UP = TUNE!!!

It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience not to be missed.
I was still very much sick that day, but decided to screw the possible health consequences of going, and went with my two female friends who were going as well (Janelle and Abby, both of whom loved every minute of the concert as well), and boy am I glad I did.
Yes, the line outside was long, but it was moving quite fast, so it wasn't that bad. As mentioned, met cono_sur while waiting (I feel like a giant around you man, damn
).
Got inside around 9:20, and Freeland was already spinning. He played a good set imo, but just wasn't getting the appropriate response from the crowd because every single person was waiting on Prodigy. He more impressed me with his technical skills than anything else - he was doing the most amazing shit with the turntables in an absolutely matter-of-fact way, lol. I loved it. He definitely did start getting better with his track selection towards the end - notables were the AC/DC track "Thunderstruck", something that sounded either like Franz Ferdinand or that "My Sharona" song, then a very very sick Drum & Bass song (if anyone can ID it, that would be awesome), and he finished off with "We want Your Soul". (vid here: http://www.smugglersite.com/03/dire...land_happy.html)
By this time I already met up with Liam, Cam, Sean, Mona, Spam, and had the pleasure of meeting Orko for the first time.
Prodigy started off at 10:30 with Break & Enter, then played Their Law, then Wake Up (which I think is the proper title, not Wake The Fuck Up, I know Wake the Fuck Up is on the Back to Mine album, but what they played was definitely the album version from AONO), then Breathe. At this point my memory starts getting sketchy, but I definitely remember Hotride, Spitfire, Voodoo People, No Good (Start the Dance), Smack My Bitch Up, Wake Up Call, Action Radar, Firestarter, Poison, and they closed with Out Of Space. Honestly, every single song they played has been my favourite for a number of years, so to experience all of this live was just too intense. The flu made my back muscles very sore, so I would have loved to be right in the middle of the crowd with everyone else, but instead I stayed back where there was a bit more space around me. Anyhow, since I have the tall-as-fuck syndrome, I could still see pretty much everything, and it was incredible to see the whole crowd jumping up and down, almost in complete unison to some of the songs. Unreal.
Coatcheck line wasn't actually that bad. Took me about 30 minutes to get through it. At once point I remember standing, and I feel some tugging on my shirt sleeve. I look over, and I see some short, sweaty girl biting on my shirt sleeve. She goes "Oh, don't mind me, I was just biting on your T-shirt sleeve" and then continues to do it. LOL. People on E are hilarious.
Definitely a night I'll remember for the rest of my life.
