ok for once and all lets end this.
common sense will tell ya that it is Tee oh tee ayy . it has to be. you may say it toe tah but that dont mean its right.
logic behind it is the when u refer to this site in general u do not say hey i saw this on tah or hey r u on tah or hey can i get a tracklist of this set on tah. u for sure refer to it as Tee Ayy. in same regards it is Tee OH Tee Ayy.
for toronto in short ppl say t dot or tee oh ... when was last time sumone refered to toronto as to.
so TEE OH TEE AYY
now lets move on ... diabolic is lurking so something to make fun of shud be comin up soon

You're a T.O. T.A. - hence - pronouncing each letter, despite taking longer, is the proper form.
See, you say TAs (Tee-Ehs) and you say Toronto Tee-Ehs or NYTAs (N Y Tee Ehs) so why not Tee Oh Tee Ehs ? Eh?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acronyms
| quote: |
Acronyms and initialisms are abbreviations, such as NATO, laser, or scuba, written as the initial letter or letters of words, and pronounced on the basis of this abbreviated written form. |
| quote: |
The Cambridge Encyclopedia of the English Language) who differentiate between the two terms, restricting acronym to pronounceable words formed from the initial letter or letters of each of the constituent wordssuch as NATO [neɪtoʊ], not [ɛn.eɪ.ti.oʊ], from the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, or radar [reɪdɑɹ], from radio detection and rangingand restricting initialism to abbreviations pronounced as the names of the individual letterssuch as TLA [ti.ɛl.eɪ] or XHTML [ɛks.eɪtʃ.ti.ɛm.ɛl]. |
Actually, I'm gonna go ahead and destroy the initialism argument right here and now:
Initialisms are types of acronyms, and what separates them is that initialisms are strictly the initial letters of each word of the acronym, where an acronym can sometimes contain whole syllables, such as in the word radar.
Now which one is TOTA? Well, it stands for TOronto Trance Addict, so it can't be an initialism because it uses a whole syllable from the word Toronto.
Hence, it's an acronym.
Hence, you say it as you read it.
Hence, it's toe-tah.
Q.E.D.
its toe tah
not tee ohh tee ey
same like NATO like cosmic fur mentioned

Looks like we'll all have to agree to disagree and to each their own...
Bottom line: I wouldn't be calling anyone a toe-tah nor a tee-oh-tee-ay in public anyway
I'll just stick to tee-ay if need be
