no worries, I'm very picky on the more full-on psy, I think there's maybe 2 or 3 average tracks to every 1 good one at least.

+1
I wasn't expecting any less from these talented producers and the JOOF label. The release was worth every penny and IMO, the Whirlpool remix stood out the most.

Whirlpool makes great microwaves. We bought one in 1993 and it still works. Never had a single problem with it.

Posted by zoric on Aug-04-2006 13:30:

Whirlpool is Domenick Filopei & Bo Pericic aka Filo & Peri.

He probably missed loop and thought it was pool

brief comments going by AJ samples alone:

b.e.n. remix - sounds a bit messy & screechy, not a fan
jay selway remix - ok i guess. nothing special
john 00 fleming dub mix - this i like, similar to the jay selway mix but something about it stands out a bit more
oliver prime remix - like this too, more of a deeper take
original - very nice, less psyish than the fleming mix, so more my thing. vocals sound great
digital blonde remix - just sounds like a worse produced version of the original
viscid remix - i never know whether to class viscid as progtrance or techtrance, kind of in the middle.. really needs either more energy or less techyness, doesn't quite feel right as it is
whirloop remix - kinda like the b.e.n. one, levels seem kinda wanked

gonna buy the original, j00f & prime mixes i think

My mistake Miss Whirloop, I misread the name of the remix, btw, I love your album "A fascination for clouds"

ownz me hard

Posted by Elyksir on Aug-13-2006 11:13:

was expecting a lot more than i've received with this release... although i've been a big fan of JOOF and his label in the last 2 years, fused did nothing to me, not even one remix that i would find great

i hoped that a collab between db and joof would turn out better that db's album which was kinda bland and did nothing to me, it seems that i just can't get into db stuff nor the latest joof rec. stuff (with the exception of steve birch's new album )

Posted by Philby on Aug-14-2006 04:25:

oliver prime remix and jay selway mix FTW

Thanks for catching that , I gotta start reading my own posts before I submit before I look like a dick again.

What can I say, when I first heard the samples, I thought this was going to be the Joof release of the year. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The only mixes that did any justice for me were the Oliver Prime remix and Joof dub mix. I love the lush Spanish guitar in Prime's remix, and the lead goes perfectly in Joof's dub mix. And what's up with those awkward vocals? I respect the need to be different, but Punk and Psy-Trance just don't fit together IMO, at least in this track.
