Can anyone else NOT get their damn VIP bracelet off? I've tried like 3 different pairs of scissors! It's impossible to cut anything with your left hand :/

I've pulled mine out !

Was so easy o_0

Posted by DJ Charlie on Apr-18-2006 03:39:

haaa man,... I lost my nice review by mistakenly doing hitting "tab then backspace" on my keyboard...
this one will be shorter as I'm too lazy to write everything back

Got there before IM
I wasn't VIP this year so i couldn'T see most of you.
I saw Taha, DarV, Falcon-X and his friend, Blinkme, Markess and stereohead, tatgirl, elie,
seen from far: Malek, psytrancer, monika.

LOTS OF CHEBIZ THIS YEAR !! ain't right?

I was partying with my friends in the back center of the dancefloor (of the trance room of course) and stayed there till 11h30

Venue: 7/10
wasn't really impressed with the setup this year... its the same every year. they really need to change it all, not just the light.
and those red and blue "lightbright" spot in front of teh stage were so gay.

Crowd:
techno/trance room 9.5/10
house room 6/10

I found the most weirdest people in the house room even if i only stayed 15min in there.
in the other room, the vibe was crazy from my point of view.
still, i hate seeing those people gettign massages by 50 people in the middle of the dancefloor... give us some space dammit !

Sound: I had earplugs on all night... thank god for that... it was perfect for the techno 10/10
but for those 15min in the house room... man !!!!! IT WAS RIDICULOUSLY LOUD !!!!!!! 0/10 !!!! F !!!! F for FU**ING LOUD
can't believe so many people were in that room without protection...
(and talking of protection, I saw thousands of condoms on the floor in that room.

DJs:

Deep Dish (for 15min): lower the gains PLEASE !

Nic Fanciulli : I wasnt really into it but it warmed me well before IM

Infected Mushroom : I saw them for 30min or something at Aria, and for Bal en Blanc, MAN THEY WERE PRETTY INTENSE !!!!
I heard their entire live act and dj set. only negative point is that they played 3h over 140 BPM and it just burned the energy of people before Armin got on. And a bit too much on the breakdowns

ARMIN VAN BUUREN : Still my #1 even tho he didn't play much trance. After the speedmusic of IM, Armin did a mistake of starting his set smooth, but i give him credits... what to do after 3h of 150bpm ?? relax ! so it wasn't a mistake after all.
after 30min he blew the place with techtrance till the end !
Did you guys saw him when he jumped on the stage like on NYE ?
Can't wait to see him again (this summer)

PREACH : You kept me till "near" the end. The set was banging all the way too ! at one point i went to see deep dish and went back very quickly then I was soo tired that i was resting in the hall, and I heard Language Santiago nino' tech dub.. next thing you know i was back in the middle of the dancefloor jumping like crazy ! Great hearing you again

even tho im not on vitamins... it was the first time i stayed till the end of an event... The music had something to do with it

Next event : Tiesto @ Metropolis
this time im getting drunk for sure

I just used a knife to cut it

I forgot to mention:

Preach has a gnarly piercing on the back of his neck and I never knew Marco G was so tall...

SICK night. So much better than last year's Bal en Blanc. I haven't had that much fun in so long.

Got inside like 11:45 or so, just as Fanciulli was starting. From what I heard he was sick, and I regret not seeing him in full, but I had to explore and find people and get my bearings!

Went to see Guetta in the house room after that, it was absolute pure cheese, but a lot of it was damn good cheese. Red Carpet - Alright....SONG OF THE NIGHT for me. Sooooo fuckin good. Some other decent funky cheese from Guetta that had everyone into it, and even though it was ridiculous I LOVED hearing Smells Like Teen Spirit to close the set. Guetta finished, and the homo stripper dancers took the stage and I KNEW it was time to go.

Checked Infected out from the VIP for a bit but wasn't really interested in them I must admit.

Armin came on after and started playing some pretty boring crap. Though Zocalo was another song of the night for me...You could just feel the happiness in the room! Armin's good at that. Anyway towards the end of his set before Preach came on Armin was playing anything but dreamy junk. He busted out some nice hard housey beats and I really enjoyed it even though I couldn't ID a single track. Nice job Armin.

Preach came on afterwards and still felt the need to start off with some relatively calm stuff, but in the second half of his set he started to absolutely rip it and there was just NO WAY I could even think of stopping to dance. Preach you're the man, by far my favorite set of Bal en Blanc. So many sick tracks were played but I have no idea what they're called! Preach owned it. I only stopped dancing when the lights came on, it was wicked to see the TA contingency killing it till the very end! Anne, Erika, Nick, JENN, Jay, Juan and hopefully I'm not forgetting anyone else who killed it to the very end to Preach front and center. Also saw tons of other TAs! More than any other party I've been to...Markess of course, Malek snappin away, Val, Alex, Neo Hacker, Diana the_devil, Bertuzz, Stereo Princess, Jesse, Munchy...all having a wicked time.

I agree with the bathroom complaint....VIP bathroom wait was ridiculous sometimes, and the hike upstairs is quite gruelling. Whatever I guess it isn't thaaaaaaat bad...I mean sometimes I took that walk upstairs just for the hell of it to get a little bit of cool air.

Setup was solid, but I'm with Marcus on the need for LASERS. I just love them at raves, for whatever reason they're just so bloody cool and make a great addition to any party.

Tonnnnns of scantily clad hot girls, only at Bal en Blanc do they dress like that! Lots of weirdos too though, anyone see the Indian chief. The house room was waaay too overpopulated with gays in some places, but if you were in the front front it wasn't as bad.

Overall awesome fuckin party, easily up there with my all time favorites. It was just such a happy vibe in there, everyone smiling and loving it all. Unlike at Celebration, where I just felt there was a weird "evil" atmosphere. The music I heard was awesome, Guetta putting on a good set, Armin actually playing some hardness and Preach just being Preach. Loved it, so happy to have partied with all the TAs.

AND SEE YOU AT SANDER

Posted by magikb on Apr-18-2006 07:53:

Well what a weekend I have had and it ended off in an excellent way.

This was my first time attending BeB and I am quite pleased at how my night turned out even though my attitude halfway through the night was not where it was when the night ended. Very nice setup and having VIP is definitely the way to go!

I arrived with some other TA's around 11:30pm meeting Taha and Alex in line. After going through the search and coat checks and such it was straight to Fancuilli.

This was my first time seeing Fancuilli and I was surprisingly impressed with his set. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from him cuz I haven't always really liked his sets in the past but he was great. Full of energy with a great vibe. I would definitely see him again.

After Fancuilli I went over to see Guetta for a short while, meeting up with Dan and hearing Alright - Red Carpet dropped.
Guetta played the usual standard cheese but I love it. Love Sensation, that tune is growing on me. (Shelley you called it and said it best ) Once Guetta was over though I found myself doing a lot of wandering which I think was where I started thinking BeB isn't that great. I didn't want to see IM cuz I am not a fan at all. I wasn't completely satisfied with the house room, cuz I just wanted a different sound than house (although I still danced to it for awhile). Then Armin came on. I went into the Tech room to see him for a short period and wasn't digging the beginning of his set. I gave myself about an hour of walking around and sitting and chatting before I attempted Armin again. This round was much better. I really enjoyed what I was hearing, much more than in TO that is for sure.

After Armin, I went to the foyer (hallway) and sat with Jesse, Marcus, Erika, Alex, Dan, Nick and a few others while resting up for Preach. If I wanted to last until noon it just had to be done!

So with that being said and with some rest we all headed into the Tech room for Preach. Preach was absolutely amazing. It was a nice selection of tunes and a mix of them at that. Of course, I was destroyed on the floor during his set. I don't think I moved that much all night long. It was the set of the night for me (as everyone suspected it would be anyhow I'm sure). For those who left only 4 tunes in.. Sorry about your luck! You should have toughed it out cuz you missed one hell of a set. By the middle of his set he was on fire and so was the crowd. I was glad to see there was still a huge crowd left in the room even at noon. Even though I was completely exhausted (and with a little encouragement from Shawn) I made it to the end and dragged my broken body out of the venue.

I most of all was happy just being able to spend time with the MTLTA's again. I missed you guys so much. There were a lot of you that I didn't get to meet either or missed this time round, but hopefully I will see you on the next trip.

Jay.. I am so happy you were there! After bitching that I haven't seen you since November we finally got to party it up propa again. Thanks again for everything.

Markessssss... it was good to see you back! And I enjoyed the chats as well. Always a pleasure and I can't wait to see you at Sander

Alex.. you are just too funny. I loved the shirt though It was great seeing you again too. Oh before I forget, thank you for not putting me through the Yoji misery

DAN... we finally accomplished our our 2 moments. Our Preach night which has been on hold since October and hearing Alright dropped. It was a pleasure as always and I love having you around, but next time.. say bye

Nick.. you looked like you were having a blast So glad you decided to come out in the end cuz you deserve it. Although you are one hard person to convince

Taha.. I absolutely love seeing you. So sad that I missed you before you left and that I didn't get a chance to meetup with you before I left. You're excitement for Fancuilli was through the roof too.. great job! Hopefully I can convince you for Saturday now!

Erika, Anne, Jesse, Val, Juan and his lovely lady, Louis, Elie, Malek and Shawn.. it was great seeing you guys again as well. Always a pleasure and definitely a big reason my night was as good as it was (sorry if I forgot anyone)
It was also nice to meet the peurf squad finally. Vermz, happy birthday again! And Elie meeting you briefly during Armin!

and of course to all the TOTA's that were present. Although I barely saw you guys all night, it always makes the party better having you guys around

ok, time for this review to end. Too many shoutouts and too much PLUR (sorry guys )

Until Sander..

ps... TAG.. wtf were you?? You should have been there biatch!!!

I was wondering, is any of these sets recorded to be on the net during the beb night ?

Posted by Oneeleven on Apr-18-2006 08:08:

Wow!! I officially have broken legs!!

We got there just as Nic was wrapping up his set. It was either go early and see him and most likely be dead for Preach. We decided to show up around 2 am. Infected Mush is not my cup of (mushroom) tea. But I can appreciate what they do, and some of it was cool to watch.

Armin blew me away, yet again. Those of you saying that you wish that he would play more like his weekly ASOT are not going to get that in a big room like that. A set like that would make people fall asleep. I loved that he threw in Clocks and ended with Who's Watching. I stopped dancing only once to wait the oh-so-long line up out to use the ONE bathroom stall in the chicks bathroom.

After Armin I was not sure how much legs I had left for Preach. I couldn't feel my toes and my legs were rubber. But alas.... sitting for any of Preach's set was not to be. I would sit for one second and he would throw down a track that had me bouncing around again! LOVED the Killer's track. He mixed it it so perfectly. Blew me away.

I never even went to the house room once!! The only DJ's in there that I wanted to see were on at the same time as the two that I went there to see so it was no contest for me where to be.

I got a super cool HUGE dragon airbrushed on my shoulder blade.

The crowd this year was AMAZING! People were so friendly!! I spent two hours talking to a girl who is studying english, and since I am studying french.. we were helping each other out!

Coat check was not include in the VIP ticket as it was of past. Not a big deal but... I was a bit pissed that they would not let me go to my coat to get my change of socks since they felt that 2 hours left was not enough of the night to justify this. I think for the prices we pay that this shouldn't have been a problem. Also, they did not give out Tshirts like I heard that they were suppose to have for VIP ticket holders. Those are my only tiny gripes tho.

On the way out I got interviewed for CBC television. They asked me tons of hard (and some silly- "How would you decribe what the experience is of going to a Rave to someone who has never been") I was trying very hard to sound coherent and not babble! lol Then I was invited back to the hotel party that one of the DJ's was having but I Preach killed me... Couldn't do it!

I was the girl wearing huge white platform boots that danced non-stop for Armin's and Preach's sets in VIP on the visual tech's side, incase you might have seen me.

WICKED NITE!!!!!

Huh? They gave you a coupon for it if you had your bracelet on.

When I showed up at about 1am, it was $3.50 VIP coat check (I didn't check, the sign said that)

You might have been too tired or maybe it was some other influence , but Armin finished with a type of dub version of Without You Near...

Posted by Neo Hacker on Apr-18-2006 12:45:

wo Armin didn't end with Who's Watching...Clocks was near the end thought. Anyway the only thing I didn't like about Armin was at the end when he got near the first rows and did like Tiesto and let people touch his hands...I mean, come on. I find this movement to be near ridiculous. I don't want Armin to be like Tiesto

Posted by Alex on Apr-18-2006 12:55:

He will be like Tiesto very soon

You should worship Sasha/Digweed/Desyn/Fanciulli instead

Well there always was a sign, I think you could've used the VIP coatcheck even if you had normal tickets (hence the 3.50$). I didn't know at first and wanted to pay the guy, but he said I didn't need to since I had the bracelet.
