Actually I do, and my comment is in direct relation to the people i want to surround myself with in a club. In my past experience, which is quite a long time, there has been a direct relation to cost of cover, hours of operation and known/unknown talent that is brought in, to the type of patrons said club draws. So yes, I am about he music...and it'll be refreshing being in a place where everyone else is as well.

p.s....you're the cool one caution tape.

ok. please tell me what made u think they were USED?

re. price - Montrealers and NYCers have been accustomed to paying higher admission prices throughout the city, not at any one special venue. it's just the cost of clubbing there.

Toronto has been spoiled with $10 parties at guv for 3 headliners and free guest list at system for years....getting a crowd that will regularly pay 40 bucks for a club they can't get into til 1am is going to be a tough sell.

Sonic is basically adding an intermediary to the distribution chain. Intermediaries are supposed to add value. How do they add value? By making the product cheaper or more convenient for customers to buy. Ticketbreak is obviously not making things cheaper. In fact, they're making things more expensive. They're also not making things more convenient for regular patrons. Why? When I used to go to the old Boa, all that was required for me to get a discount off the full price was a text message or an email to a promoter. Often times, the promoter would put me on the list without me even asking knowing that I would be going. Now, I have to make an account on the internet, and have to log on and purchase my tickets every single time I want to go to the club. And for this I have to pay an extra $4.28.

Business 101.

Also, remember that the club hasn't opened yet...so lets not burn them at the stake because of how admission is handled just yet. When Boa-Redux first opened they were a little shady with it too. I don't even think there was a g-list to begin with. Considering the hype surrounding Sonic; I would expect that guest-list becomes more accessible as the initial hype of the club wears off in a month or 2.

Sorry, I'm not going to let them do whatever they want just because they're Sonic and they're supposed to be the best thing that happend to Toronto club land in a long time. Everyone knows that there aren't many people that are more excited than me about the club being open, but there is no excuse for bullshit like this.

dude, we're talking about tickets here....a dj is a performer...if you want to go see any other performer, or any type of musical event...you have to buy tickets through things such as ticketmaster etc etc. no difference in my opinion. plus, the club is obviously going to have some issues to sort out over the first few weeks of operations much like any new venture will....it's business. normally with things like this...it's a mission just to get the club open on time...

give them some time to do their thang and work the issues out yo....

No difference for big nights, maybe not. But for every single night? There is a difference.

I will give them time. But in the mean time, I will make it known that this should be one of the things they should fix.

Earplugs of any quality should be custom fit, and therefore, already in someone else's ears.

I dunno, im hearing rave reviews of ER-20s which are of a quite good quality and they are not "customized"...

Of course customized ones are better, but I woudlnt say ER-20s are lacking.

I think it's safe to assume that anything custom made for your body probably serves its purpose better than something that comes off a shelf.

my how this thread has diverged! lol
