There was a thread on this in the Music Discussion, and I couldn't come up with one specific track that made me fall in love with EDM. I think that it was Oakenfold's EM world tour from '99 and 2000.

for me there was a bunch.

voodoo people - the prodigy (come to think of it, most of their songs in general)
sandstorm - darude
some songs from daft punk
the launch - dj jean
equador (classic tune. pretty sure i spelt it wrong too.)
children - robert miles.....i remember listening to that on my walkman for hours.

so many, can't really think.
orbital was one of them same with chemical brothers.
basically look at the soundtrack for hackers 1 and 2 and most of the artists there.

then i started listening to PVD, Oakenfold, Corsten, Buuren, Tiesto, etc.

Cappella - Move On Baby was the first eurodance tune I heard when I was 8 years old.

As for trance, I believe it was either BT - Mercury & Solace, ATB - 9 PM, or Cygnus X - The Orange Theme.

House...uh...Daft Punk - Around the World, Modjo - Lady...whichever came first.

The entire Homework album by Daft Punk. 'nuf said.

Add anything by 2Unlimited.
No limits, Let the Beat Control your Body....

Also anything by C&C Music Factory.

I remember me and my polish friends in Timmins rockin' out to these tunes in the basement.

LMAO

I totally forgot about that track. A friend of mine brought it back from Isreal with him, it hadn't been released here yet. I now have that in my head, and it will stay there for the rest of the evening. wow

Did anyone else have the Dance Mix USA versions too?

They were never as quality as the just regular Dance Mix volumes!

Dance Mix 94 (or *maybe* 05) was my favourite!!

MORE AND MORE AND MORE AND MORE!

the very first dance song i heard that i was like was

Robert Miles - Children

then after a long void of being into rock music crystal method stuff like 'keep hope alive' and 'busy child' got me back into the sound of EDM...

and yes, i can humbley admit that darude - sandstorm paved the way for me getting into the trance scene slowly

Posted by Chiclet on Apr-27-2006 23:02:

It was either:

Acen - Window In The Sky

or

Acen - Close Your Eyes (Optikonfusion mix) <--- SICK TRACK!

When I was 12, my brother used to listen to a lot of 'rave' music.

Also, one of the tracks that will always remind me of my first days of raving will always be Access.

YES!

They played that at one of the first raves I ever went to. Then, 6 months later, it was being played on Energy 108 and I refused to listen to it again. Then, I realized how stupidly pretentious that was and started listening to it again!

I freakin' love that track.

Posted by djbruuen on Apr-27-2006 23:09:

^ since i woulda been only like 12 when it came out, it was thanks to energy108 that i even knew it existed...but yeh, i hate when radio ruins a good tunes, because with EDM, i can crank songs 3 years old and ppl would think its new...but if the radio grabbed it, then 3 years later its old news.

Lustral - Everytime [Nalin & Kane Mix]

This song was on GU002 mixed by Paul Oakenfold [1999]... this was also the same time I discovered the underground music scene & stopped listening to mainstream radio...

This song was one of the best things to ever happen to me!

Yes, but a good song is a good song, regardless.

I wish I could find my old copy of Children. *sigh*
