Nobody mentioned Marco V?
What's up with him?
He looks like he use to do lot of drugs!?!?!!?
GODD!!!!!!!!

You dont have to been a genius to see that most of the people in a club are on drugs. If a Dj has taken drugs he understands his audience more.
Drugs expand the mind simple as, they allow you to think and do things that you wouldnt normally.
Everyone has taken drugs. The problem society has is using drugs for recreation.
DJ's to me would seem the most likely people in the scene to take drugs. It seems logical - they work in scene were a lot of people take drugs and they have a lot of money to spend on drugs. Obviously some people don't like taking drusg so they are omitted from this rule
But I would expect that quite a large proportion do or have done.
hey remember the beatles? they were so fucked they even let ringo sing a song.
In order to provide a good show for those that take drugs at clubs and/or listen to this music you must understand how they feel when they're doing this. certain music wouldn't be written without the help of drugs, but then again i bet some music is held back because of exessive drug use. If you really want to understand your crowd then you need to listen to your own music in every possible way. if your music only sounds good on drugs then that's your audience, if your music sounds good for drug users and straight people then you're doing really well, and if only sounds good to straight people then you might be missing people that find their own way to have a good time through drugs.
read some song names and see how drug influenced they are. some songs are so crazy that they have to be made for drug use, you might not understand how good the song is until you listen to it on a drug, then from then on you can enjoy it better, even when not on drugs. but if you need drugs to make a song sound good then you're not listening to the right kind of music. if you're using drugs to enhance your experience or let out stress then that is a different situation.
dj's don't get checked for drugs at the door
One thing people have to remember is that this industry grew up hand in hand with the use of ecstacy. With all these drugs flying about infront of a dj, it's just a matter of time before it goes up his nose
anyone know abou the chemical brothers? they come out with some far out shit.
smoking a j, and then listening to them is perfect!
I would never take drugs when I DJ.

| http://bmj.com/cgi/reprint/326/7380/80.pdf ... snip ... The rate of deaths related to taking ecstasy in people aged 15 - 24 during 1995 and 1996 in England was 18 and between 1995 and 1997 in Scotland was 11. The risk of using ecstasy varies between one death in 2000 first time users to one death in 50 000 first time users. ... snip ... We identified 81 deaths related to taking ecstasy. Results of toxicological examination were made available in 75 cases; MDMA accounted for 68 (91%), MDA for 7 (9%), and opiates or opioids for 44 (59%) of these cases. In 26 (38%) cases, one or more drugs (mostly hypnotics or sedatives) had been prescribed to the deceased patient (table). ... snip ... Most people who died from taking ecstasy were white employed men in their late 20s, known to services as drug addicts, and died at home. Typically, the deceased took several different (prescribed and non_prescribed) drugs with ecstasy; the large number of people who also took opiates seems surprising but confirms previ_ ous findings and may explain why a high proportion of the victims were known to services.4 People may have taken ecstasy with other drugs to modulate the effectsecstasy had, at least, a facilitating role in causing death. A small proportion of people (6/81; 7%) died after taking only ecstasya previously doubted possibility. |

You do the math. Another report also contains the stats on how many people have tried drugs at various ages, but I cbf finding it now. |

The reason why so many more people die from alcohol/cigaretes than from ecstasy is because ecstasy is taken by relatively few people. If the same number of people were doing e regularly as the number of people who smoke/drink regularly, the number of ecstasy related deaths would be somewhat(as in A LOT) bigger.
Besides, long term side effects from E are still uknown. Who knows maybe in 20 years all those people who've been doing ecstasy regularly will start dying.
