nevio made a complete fool of himself. i truly believe that his joke of an opening set completely killed the vibe of the crownd. it killed mine at least. it was quite apparent that the crowd was not into dj vibe whatsoever until at least an hour into his set.

for nevio to hit the decks completely botched, chewing his face off, and playing cheesy circuit anthems before a twisted tribal dj is just plain absurd and completely unproffesional. his set had no flow whatsoever and was all over the place and his mixing was mediocre at best. the club is still a business and the role of the opening dj is still a job...a job that should be approached in a proffesional manner. i was very dissapointed to say the least.

vibe on the other hand was definately everything i thought he would be. some may say monotonous and repetitive at the beginning...i say relentless and in your face. his set kept getting crazier with each passing hour. some of the buildups he constructed were insane. he played so many tunes i've never heard before and never expect to hear again. his programming was excelent and his technical skills were top notch.

can't wait to see him in ibiza at space

Thanks for all the positive feedback from everyone, it was lots of fun to play for all of you before and after Sonic! In all fairness to Nevio though guys, everyone is entitled to an 'off' night. Surely it wasn't one of his best performances, but in my opinion he brought it together towards the end just in time for Vibe.

There were many other elements that contributed to the lack of vibe in the club that night. There were lighting issues that seemed to re-occur throughout the night, and the crowd itself was far from the usual 'let loose attitude' we have been accustomed to at Sonic. When Vibe hit the decks, the crowd finally got into it a bit more. Later in his set (around 5am), is really where he started to get rolling and there were some really great moments right until the end.

Great TA showing, and if it werent for you guys that party wouldnt have started until well into the morning. For those who came out, rocked hard, and danced your asses off until the lights came on - thank you

I'd agree with this, I remember thinking to myself he was starting to pull it together & glanced @ my phone.. was around 12:30..

I had a good time... the club is beautiful and would definitely want to go back.

Too bad about the bad reviews but I like what Nevio played - I don't have a keen ear to notice mixing and song selection mishaps tho. It was my first time hearing tribal and i don't think it's for me. Some tracks got me moving but overall, i just couldn't feel it. I could be that I had been at work all day and didn't get to sleep before going.

Anyway, people were great and it was nice to see some TAs.

It was a little bright in there.. felt like I should have brought sunglasses.

And drinks are a little pricey than what I'm used to - $5 for water is a little steep.

All in all, i'd definitely go back and regret not going sooner. Beautiful club - worth the $20+!!
