I didn't realise anyone produced trace at all...
But, if you're talking about Trance, it's Envio. Easy.

David Westerlund - This guy can do anything
Airwave
Flutlicht - brilliant producers, its a shame they never did more tracks

to the first few posters, Thrillseekers is ONE PERSON (Steve Helstrip)!!!! Learn your shit
best for me are:
M.I.K.E.
Yahel <---- MOST UNDERRATED!!!
Ferry Corsten
Vincent De Moor
and probably Solar Stone
m.i.k.e, ferry corsten, stephan bodzin/oliver hunteman, mauro picotto, fred baker, torsten stenzel
Here's my top three:
Sasha - I'm in awe of his Arkham Asylum / Ohmna ep, imo it's possibly the best trance release ever. Then there's Xpander.
Art of Trance - Produced countless trance classics on Platipus Records
Oliver Lieb
m.i.k.e , oliver lieb, and tiesto..?
My faves:
Jonas Steur (Estuera/Fable)
Galen Behr (Passiva/Ava Mea)
Stoneface & Terminal

Some which I missed among the ones mentioned:
Ronski Speed
Henstock & Jennings
Faitless (unknown mixes on singles)
Sean Tyas
John O'Callaghan
Filo and Peri
Scooter (early work and unknown trance tracks)
Jam & Spoon
Matt Darey
Darude
Westbam
DJ Quicksilver
Capella
Culture Beat
Yves de Ruyter
But then, the greatest of all,
without any doubt,
Paul, Ferry and Armin (in random order).
Didn't take long for this thread to go to shit in the end then.
Best will always be PVD for, Out there and Back... IMO, no one has ever come close to touching the magic on that album....
Not only is he the definitive master of trance bass lines, but his melodies are simple, his samples are clear and precise and his builds are sequenced perfectly in time, not to mention his layers upon layers of mechanicalesque rythmic sample loops that accentuate the passionate string synths... Oh, and notice a complete lack of cheese...
Also, MOST (NOT everyone) of his remix's and edit's he's done over the years are just gold... The man understands trance moreso than any other producer I've heard since the very beginning... There have been countless tracks created that I've loved by most everyone listed in this thread, but consistently, PVD gets it right more times than anyone else and more often than not, he's the one improving everyone eles' stuff...
01 Ferry Corsten
02 M.I.K.E.
03 Laurent Verronez
