9/11 what it means to me

Five years ago to this day
Many Heroes unexpectedly parted their ways.
Through the rumble, terror and destruction
Where there were once were twin towers
Now we will forever lay flowers.
We were all witnesses to the terror in the air that day.

This is written in remembrance for all those we lost,
It's now a place where some still hold their fingers crossed.
Wishing they could have found there loved ones,
Around the world today we will hear the silence of guns.
We shall all hold our head down in peace,
There was stillness in those moments that will last forever.

Today, all day, everyday we will remember the thousands that were lost,
Here, there and over seas still fighting for freedom
Is continuing world peace just some thing just for imagination?
Keep your fingers crossed that the moment isn't lost.

I'm sure a bunch of randoms with handguns and the odd sawed-off will be able to fend off the United States Army. Fuck.

exaaaaactly. Though we could wipe them off the face of the earth with our army; we just find it morally irreprehensible. And the consequences would be astronomical.

Why don't you take a minute to think about the probability of that happening. Surely the next terrorists to attack our country will make sure to stop by your house first for a little AK-47 battle.

Dont pay your taxes to those guys, they're gonna come invade and turn the country into a tyranny remember!

I'm sure if all those children had been given Colt .45s they would have been saved. Brilliant idea.

Oh btw,

quote:
well there was an issue going to the NO disaster, the constitution of the US was violated:
"No soldier shall, ."in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law when the disaster happened in New Orleans we werent in war and the govt did not go to a court to obtain permission so soldiers could go into peoples houses, but its still was done but to save lives, trying to get the people trapped out!
But again the constitution was violated, and the govt never got the right permission to go into the houses, because they acted immediately!

Do you know what quartered means? It means housed. I.E. no soldiers can use your residence as their own, to set up camp, without consent of the owner. The constitution was not violated by troops entering houses on rescue missions.

Didnt I mention that the main purpose of being a gun owner is to defend yourself. If Bush goes nuts, sends the military to your house and kill you, who are you going to defend your country or you and your family?

seriously - when has that ever happened? - and when is it likely to happen - unless you are doing something very wrong; in which case you probably deserve the government coming to your house.

the argument on the constitution is the craziest thing I have heard in this topic (and believe me, it's mainly crazy to anyone but a card holding NRA member) when the constitution was written, america was unciviliced - you had to carry a gun for protection/food. That gun was a rifle - not a concealed automatic weapon; the constitution is in many ways out of date, thats why you had amendments - maybe it's time to amend again.

comunism = gun control = crazy assumption.

WOW out of date... I guess that freedom of speech, the press, and religion is out of date. All of our fundamentals rights, that our creator has given us and stated there our out of date. Yeah thats it!

If you study and understand bettre our great constitution that has inspired other constitution around the world, and ironic that El Che even read it and shed tears, the whole point of the constitution is to grant more rights to its citizens and not take out their rights. Again the purpose of the constitution is to GRANT more rights to its citizens and NOT take away
