true true i see what you're saying, how much fun you have doesn't necissarily pend on who's djing, or what kinda pills you had, or the people you met, every night is different and has a different feel... unless you go to hiphop clubs, in which case every night has the feeling that you're gonna get shot! LOL

Definition of Troll

My favorite trance event to date?

That'd be Remy and Armin at Roxy on July 11th, 2003. The music, atmosphere, lighting, lasershow and people made this a magical night for me. However, you don't see me going and making a big statement such as "greatest trance event ever to be!!11". Too bold.

Posted by TRNG on Aug-01-2006 22:47:

tru tru, but eh i had lots fun there, plus it was my birthday celebration so that was even better, and alot of the people i met there have been clubbing for 7 years and longer, and they all said that avb @ tobacco warehouse was one of the best.

Posted by Groundhog Boy on Aug-01-2006 22:52:

I didn't attend because I was out of town, but I'd be willing to bet there are people on here who thought that Ferry's gig @ Avalon on 10/24/04 (set recorded by DI.fm) was better than Armin's gig at Tobacco Warehouse.

That's great to hear that you had a spectacular time on your birthday. That's what life and these sort of events are all about.

Two gripes about what you're telling me now, though.

1) People could club for 7 years and see the same DJ over and over again without branching out to see what else the EDM/IDM scene is like. That doesn't say much, though.

2) Keyword: ONE of the best. Not only that but... what does it matter what they say? Trying to jump on a bandwagon?

Just to let you know, I enjoyed the 2-day event. I wouldn't mind attending again. I think I would have been happier if it took place later in August, though. I like the cooler weather.

The first week of August's looking like it's going to have the hottest days of the summer so far.

I went to the first 3 residency sets, none were as good as this one. My version's 6.5 hours long, but the first hour is the opener. Ferry's first track is Kyoto.

not to be an ass or anything...

but do you mind sending me the set lol??? i really want it.. sounds like it could be amazing.. yess all 6.5 hours would be fine (unless someone on here has a longer one????) and kyoto is

If I remember when I get home. It's a big file (275 MB) so I'm not sure which upload sites I can use. Probably yousendit, which expires quickly.

Either that or I'll split it with HJ Split and it'll be a 3 part download from megaupload or rapidshare, since they don't expire quickly.

Please, please, PLEASE no RapidShare.

How about sexuploader?

I thought about that one, too.

Why not Rapidshare? Because you only get 1 download/hour? If I have to split it, I won't do that, since you'll have to download it throughout the day.

Precisely. I'd rather sit through the slower speeds of MegaUpload.

Posted by TRNG on Aug-01-2006 23:22:

..so can i post up sendspace links on here or anything???

Ferry Corsten - Live @ Avalon 10-24-04

Sorry, had to cut up to use the easier to use upload sites. Use HJSplit to join the three files after downloading.

that's why you can't listen to armin for months before you see him - cuz you'll recognize every single track that he plays - but trance energy 2006 was good b/c it wasn't just armin - there were 3 stages all with dj's that don't come to the US (i.e. ron van gelderson) and others that don't come very often (above and beyond, perry o'neil, mathew dekay, remy and roland live, etc.) and with 10,000 ppl you can't go wrong. all of the parties that i have gone to in europe are clearly better organized than any party in the states.
