I met some awesome people. I was alittle lost most of the night, not being able to find my friends.

Never drinking that much at DragonFly again.

Highlight of the night: Artic Monkey vs. Sander van Doorm - Sun goes down

Tiesto played the Arctic Monkey track???

Funny part of the night: 2 girl friends i went with got picked up by the security guards inside Dragonfly to go backstage and meet Tiesto. So they went, half an hour later, or maybe more, not important lol, they both come out running and freaking out which i initially thought was due to excitement but i was later to find out that it wasn't excitement after all, but something more on the lines of distress. Backstage, after spending some time in the dj booth and in the back, the girls asked Tiesto for a picture and he replied to one of them (quote) "Get naked and i will take a picture with you" and to other he said "Show me your tits and suck my cock". I was cracking up when i heard that last night, and thought that the world's #1 Dj has some serious snake charming skills and knows how to talk to the ladies I wasn't surprised that he wouldnt take a picture with his fans since thats nothing new, but his reaction was off the hook lol

How's that funny? I think thats pretty pathetic on Tiesto part...

No wonder I din see you....I thought you wrapped around your towel would be the second most funny thing in the club after that sketcy asian migid dancing with the water bottle over his head....

haha...I saw that dude!

And I swear to god...he did the same thing at the Docks in May! That's his only move.(unless it was a different short asian midget at the docks, but I don't think it was.)

Knowing what to expect from the usual Tiesto crowd I actually really enjoyed myself at Dragonfly. First off I love the club. This time I did notice there was a lot of crap on the floor that kept getting stuck to my shoes. I'd still say Armin was the better night of the two but both Tij/Mo's track selections were pretty good to keep me going. This was probably the first time in the longest time I didn't even bother to go near the DJ booth...I didn't even catch a glimpse of Tiesto's face...saw enough of it on Saturday!...as long as you set your expectations and know what the crowd is going to be like I think it'll be a good time.

Anyone know the song that came on around 11ish maybe...MO played it. Very up and down...cutesty even (yes I suck at track ID'ing)

I had a really fun time @ Dragonfly. The club was really nice, and the staff was great too. I dont know why some people are surprised at the crowd. I thought the crowd was really good. They really got into both MO & Tiesto's sets. I thought the energy in there was pretty good IMO. Sure there was some pushy people, but certainly no more than any big party @ Guv/KH.

I only caught a couple glimses at tiesto since the washrooms were near the booth, he seemed happy and into it a couple times, and had the 'pissed off/dont care' look a couple others. BUt i thought his set was pretty good. Not greatness like last time @ Docks, but still really good music.

HE IS NOT ARMIN nd will never be... simple....

ha ha. this is so true.

every dj has their own personality.

would people expect PVD to even smile?

would people expect Digweed to even look up?

Personally, I could care less if the DJ is even in site....but that being said....some DJs rely on the crowd interaction to make their performance just that....a performance....others are their because of their skills...and don't care for interaction....which is fine.

I have no issue with Tiesto not putting on a performance and I don't have issue with his skills.....I have issue with his crowds (which isn't his fault) and in general the type of trance he spins (fluffy put me to sleep trance)

Plus I think people tend to forget they (DJ's/Artists) are WORKING and trying to do a JOB, not a public relations session!

Posted by sticky_shoes on Aug-15-2006 16:19:

Hmmm...judging for the mixed reviews on here...

The vibe coming off the DJ is important in terms of overall performance...but I'd definitely say skills are way more important...some people here say that he dropped a wicked set...I guess I'd be satisfied if the guy got me dancing

The crowd can also factor in in terms of the whole experience...but I usually don't get bothered by the crowd esp. if I'm into the music.

That being said...I'd see Tiesto...unfortunately I couldn't make it out to Niagara...

No wounder he was pissed drunk.

How does that math work???

The place holds 800 people X $45 = $36,000
Where did the other $64,000 large come from?
NOT water sales!!!

Another Suggestion: The bathrooms entrance right beside the DJ Booth = Bad Combination!

To loose money on an event like this doesn't matter to the club. It is the reputation you gain for having big name DJs at the club. The owners make enough money with their other clubs that loosing money on nights with big name DJs isn't a concern for them. Any time a small club has big name DJs it is going to most likely loose money for the night. Don't think for a minute that other big names like AVB and PVD don't come with a similar price tag.

Posted by MichaelBoogerd! on Aug-15-2006 17:24:

If the promoter is the club owner, he made fucking shitloads on bar money as well as ticket prices.

Either way it's more $$$ than you and I will ever make for 6 Hours work!
lol
Funny thing that: "Supply & Demand"

I think there were more than 800 in the place tbh and there were a good number of people drinking at about $6/drink so I am sure they made some money.

ok, honestly.. if he said that, nothing you can do about it. We get it! You don't like Tiesto.. no point in bringing up the same point over and over in this thread. People are either gonna like him or hate him, it happends.. sorry, time to move on.
