Check out this article about a welsh hard dance duo cally and juice, who among other things are known for their turntabilism, this article looks at their top five tricks including scratching with their feet and breakdancing scratching, the photos have to be sewn to be believed!!

Nick Sentience's career has spanned 10 highly successful years, during which time he has produced over 120 tracks, remixed some of club-land's biggest smashes, collaborated with a stream of top artists and DJed at some of the world�s most prestigious clubs. His music has been supported by all the top DJs including Judge Jules, Fergie, Pete Tong and many more. Some of the top names he has remixed include Mauro Picotto, Storm, Stretch & Vern, Mario Piu and Safri Duo and collaborations include Tim Healey (Coburn), BK, Andy Farley, Phil Reynolds, Mark Sherry (Public Domain) and James Lawson. Nick has been studio engineer for Geri Halliwell and Robbie Williams and has recorded for a stream of A-list labels including Virgin, Incentive, Ministry of Sound, Data, Nukleuz, Tidy Trax, Riot and Positiva. I saw 'What is hardcore?' mentioned a bit earlier in this thread, but it never really got answered. I'll give it a crack...
Hardcore is up in the faster end of the hard dance/trance spectrum usually at 160bpm+. There are various types of 'Hardcore'.
Happy Hardcore - Seems to be the most prolific, and depending who you talk to most people think happy hard when the word hardcore gets thrown up. This is the cheesy stuff, lots of uplifting vocals, piano riffs and the like. Tends to be very bouncy and you would recognise the older stuff from the chipmunk lyrics that get thrown around. Thankfully the chipmunk doesn't make much of an appearance anymore! This group includes guys like Scott Brown, Hixxy, Breeze, Styles, Gammer, Dougal, Seduction, Stormtrooper, VAGABOND, etc.
Gabber - Closely related to hardstyle, and many tend to agree that hardstyle formed out of gabber simply by slowing it down a little. This is the real heavy industrial dutch stuff that comes out of Rotterdam, and is recognisable by its really overdriven/distorted bass kick. Hellraiser plays a lot of this stuff when he gets into his faster sets. This is people like Prophet, Neophyte, Evil Activities, there's a lot more but it's not really my thing.
Freeform - Evolved out of 'trancecore' which was essentially sped up trance tracks. It has changed a lot since then and these days is considered to have traits in both hardcore and drum 'n bass. Vocals are rare, and Freeform generally doesn't have the bounce/happy/cheese of other hardcore variants, tending more toward a synthy, acid kind of sound. Supported by the likes Kevin Energy (and the Nu Energy Collective), Sharkey, Oli G, K Complex, CLSM, Marc Smith, Gammer (when he's not doin Happy), Eryk Orpheus, etc.
-- FiNRG - Noteable mention should be made of FiNRG which is starting to become more and more prevalent. It is an offshoot of Freeform with a much heavier acid influence. Guys like Alek Szahala, DJ Rx and even Proteus has been producing some good FiNRG stuff.
There are more sub genres including Speedcore (stupid fast), Terrorcore (Gabber with roid rage), Breakcore and other, but they're not real common.
There's a growing Hardcore presence in Australia, with guys like Weaver, Suae, Haze and Seventy-7 starting to get a lot of attention overseas.
I'm a freeform/finrg nut myself, and whilst there was a brief stint at 3D (melbourne) of playing hardcore it didnt seem to last, and it was only really the happy hard stuff anyway.
