Bastard.

No matter how well THE_Chris does in terms of points, spiritually he's always last. Such is the way of these things. Especially when he has 15 points more than me.
C'mon guys, you let me be 4th with that score? Were you even trying?
The stats file has been updated!
Grab It Here!
montana took second place from Floorfiller in the all-time table, and Cobalt made a huge jump upwards into 11th place.
Congratulations

I've been way too busy... would have liked to work on a couple of those hints. Ah well, always another contest I guess.

I can appreciate the time and effort put in, but that statistics file you keep putting up isn't really representaive of anything really, is it? Well, other than keeping track of how many times a person has entered. I realise that this is all based on averages, BUT, some contests were deliberately made easier than others, meaning those regurlarly participating are at much more of an advantage here. I mean check out ID contest 37. If you entered that one then your laughing all the way to the bank.
Yeah, you'd have to be doing it by some method of individual score versus average score per contest to get a more accurate picture.
I wonder if Psy-T has updated his at all?

ok here they are.. and i must apologise to Push2005 for previously missing a unique, whoops!
01 sarah mclachlan - fear (hybrid's super collider remix)
IDs: 5
the opening track from sarah's classic 'remixed' album
02 antix - forever changing
IDs: 2
sublime progtrance from the great 'twin coast discovery' album
03 cinereal - another day (original mix)
IDs: 4
neat little vocal tune from early last year that never seemed to get much attention
04 humate - love stimulation (michael woods remix)
IDs: 3
had i let the sample run for about a second longer i think this would have had alot more partial IDs!
05 beam - on your mind (sean tyas hard dub)
IDs: 3
something more recent here.. many of his remixes have been rather lacklustre but i love this one
06 solid sessions - janeiro (pronti & kalmani dub)
IDs: 3
quite a few people got the artist & title here but not the remixer.. pronti & kalmani were the original producers behind alice deejay, would you believe..
07 josel & pedro - waking life
IDs: 2
i actually had no idea this was a movie sample.. fortunately the tune title is the same as the movie title so a couple were able to track this down
08 smoke city - underwater love
IDs: 2
slightly bizarre downtempo tune from around 96/97 which was featured in a levi's commercial
09 dido - take my hand (brothers in rhythm remix)
IDs: 0
no-one even got close on this, to my surprise. jurgen vries went on to turn this into a trance tune but BIR's chunky progressive take on dido's version is superior. and regarding the hint, dido's brother is of course rollo from 'faithless'
10 loafer - travelogue
IDs: 1 * cobalt unique
lovely floaty piece of prog, as featured on the 2001 'planet progressive' mixmag cd, mixed by cass (of cass & slide fame)
11 tiesto - forever today
IDs: 3
this was an excerpt from the orchestral opening on the 'just be' album version
12 team sr - leaving london (t4l remix)
IDs: 3
something for the more upfront crowd here.. recently released on fiveam recordings. i thought the lyrics would give this one away a bit easier!
13 bent - swollen
IDs: 3
doubt anyone would have gotten this if it weren't for the hints, but alas. lovely melancholic chillout with vocals from zoe johnston
14 karen ramirez - looking for love (trouser enthusiasts remix)
IDs: 3
not instantly recognisable without the vocals, this was a huge commercial house tune back in 1998, which trouser enthusiasts turned into a nice uplifting number
15 ultra vibe - choose freedom
IDs: 3
as far as i know this alias is the only collaborative project between bonzai artists MIKE & L-Vee, with only the one release from back in 2001
16 al azar - shattered dreams
IDs: 2
technically this should be a piggy unique, since the other person to get it co-produced it
al azar is of course TA's own Mr.Mystery & Mart
17 john o callaghan pres mannix - mercury
IDs: 1 * groundline unique
this was the last ASOT release i ever spent money on, and also the last JOC release that had any element of soul to it.. from late 2004
18 21st century fux - sunspirit (ivan gough & luke chable remix)
IDs: 1 * aabech unique
HUGE remix from two australian breakbeat masters, one of my favourites for blasting out loud
19 blackwatch & greed - gentle rain (blackwatch jacked-hi mix)
IDs: 4
more breaks here.. a little more chilled this time. came out on release elements in 2004
20 goo goo dolls - iris
IDs: 7
one of the best songs ever! received the most full IDs of all the samples here
21 sasha - mr tiddles
IDs: 6
another fairly easy one here, from the timeless airdrawndagger album
22 fluke - atom bomb (atomix 1)
IDs: 6
one of fluke's most well known tracks, alongside absurd. both from the 1997 'risotto' album
23 pollon - lonely planet
IDs: 3
from the highly sought after 'electratech' LP, and also the opening track on digweed's 'MMII'. the previous hint that applied to this was that of track 10, as this also featured on the planet progressive mix cd
24 pat foosheen - the unthinkable (habersham's mah-sivve remix)
IDs: 1 * groundline unique
i thought the hint was a bit too easy here but it appears only groundline got it! this is probably my favourite breakbeat tune ever
25 zero 7 - polaris
IDs: 1 * groundline unique
some downtempo goodness from the highly recommended album 'simple things'
26 michael moog - that sound
IDs: 1 * camwin unique
one of the big ibiza house anthems from back in 99.. released on strictly rhythm/ffrr. the title was sung in the clip
27 bedrock - heaven scent
IDs: 3
i thought this would be one of the easiest samples in here, shame on everyone bar ian, nik & cobalt!
28 rest assured - treat infamy
IDs: 6
as far as i can remember, simcut was the only one to correctly identify this on the first go.. the rest all assumed it was a 'bittersweet symphony' remix & didn't get it right for a few more goes!
29 chakra - home (space brothers remix)
IDs: 0
quite surprised no-one got this, especially montana who got the artist & title but never found the right mix. this came out with the original & solarstone mixes, which predate the tilt/a&b ones by 3 years
30 audioplacid - on waves
IDs: 0
i found this by accident on mp3.com once, and fell in love with it instantly. it later went on to be featured on this album put out by trance.nu
31 john creamer & stephane k - i wish you were here (pmt remix)
IDs: 3
the vocal sample was fairly easy but a few had trouble finding the right remix here
32 fluid in motion - cycle of life
IDs: 2
an old collaboration between miika kuisma, dj tab & luke chen, which got digitally reissued last year, as part of the 'lost tapes' collection
33 future sound of london - my kingdom (part 1)
IDs: 2
the 'east of indonesia' hint referred to the prior anthem 'papua new guinea', but i always preferred this ambient epic from the 'dead cities' album. samples vangelis - rachel's song (cheers cobalt!)
34 purple haze - push off me
IDs: 2
flipside to the massive 'adrenaline' from last year.. pretty easy if you googled the hint ;p
35 radical noiz - in & out (e-craig remix)
IDs: 4
this led quite a few people down stray paths, thinking it was a onephatdeeva remix
36 bk - stay high
IDs: 1 * system-j unique
a few people guessed underworld on this one, only system-j managed to nail it as hard-dance legend BK though
37 andy farley - your fear
IDs: 2
another hard dance don here.. with an ediger, darker number
38 vibrasphere - tierra azul
IDs: 1 * the_chris unique
mostly known for their psy-tinged progressive trance, this was the token chilled downtempo addition to the 'archipelago' album
39 singo - plexi music
IDs: 0
awesome piece of driving progressive trance, released on propulsion records
40 mirco de govia - voller sterne (super8 remix)
IDs: 3
i love the breakdown on this. a few people incorrectly guessed suburban train
41 lange - frozen beach
IDs: 0
i expected someone to get this at least... as much as i love lange's trance stuff, this eclipses the lot. go buy it: http://www.audiojelly.com/index.cfm...ils.cfm&id=1375
42 trouser enthusiasts - sweet release (yellowstone remix)
IDs: 2
included this one because i spent about 4 years trying to get it ID'd myself a while back! not one of the more well-known remixes.. released on insolent tracks in 99
43 freefall feat jan johnston - skydive (mara remix)
IDs: 2
one of the deeper mixes of this anthem. the vocal sample was subtle, but it was there..
44 hondy - hondy
IDs: 0
fairly cheesy commercial club tune from the mid 90s, included it for variety's sake
45 icehouse - don't believe anymore (ivan gough & colin snape remix)
IDs: 3
icehouse are a synthpop act hailing from the 1980s. in 2002 an album called 'meltdown' was put out full of remixes of their tracks by australian producers. this is the first track on there & by far the best
46 agenda - heaven (lange remix)
IDs: 4
one of my favourite pieces of vocal trance from the 99 era, released on INCredible
47 ticon - spincycle
IDs: 1 * cobalt unique
nice bouncy track from the swedish progtrance masters
48 slacker - a million dreams
IDs: 2
the giveaway sample was there if you listened carefully enough! neat little laidback prog tune from 2003
49 the orb - toxygene
IDs: 1 * cobalt unique
one of my early memories of 'top of the pops' as a kid was watching the orb 'perform' this on a pair of 15 foot turntables. the 7" edit was included in this album
50 miika kuisma - panic mode
IDs: 1 * mr.mystery unique
the first of two mr.mystery uniques, both kuisma productions.. nice to see someone appreciates his talent as much as i do! from the 'inwardgaze' album
51 nine inch nails - something i can never have
IDs: 4
i can't say i've looked too deeply into NIN or similar bands, but a friend sent me this a few years back & i fell in love with it. i'm assuming most people got this from the lyrics!
52 farley & heller - the rising sun (bedrock remix)
IDs: 2
this was the tune that first introduced me to the big wide world that is progressive, amidst my love affair with epic trance in 1999. still sounds great to this day
53 hooverphonic - human interest
IDs: 0
an underrated pop/alternative act from belgium. the hint was actually an excerpt from the lyrics which no-one picked up on
54 halogen vs nash t - on a bridge
IDs: 2
unidentified until the last few days, this is a gorgeous piece of vocal prog-breaks with a killer chorus
55 sander van doorn - aka (sander mix)
IDs: 3
the 'sam mix' was huge late last year & one of my favourite tracks of 2005, this never got as much attention though. included it to see how many thought it was a doomsnight remix!
56 jz (aka jezper soderlund) - maya bay
IDs: 1 * simcut unique
as far as i know, this was only ever released on airbase's website. really neat melodic trance tune
57 connels - 74, 75
IDs: 6
another one of my favourite non-edm songs of all time.. good to see quite a few got this right
58 simon patterson - f16
IDs: 5
not much to work on here.. but if you know the tune then you'll recognise the sample from the breakdown!
59 mark norman - total seduction
IDs: 1 * push2005 unique
one of mark norman's earlier works from 2002, alot softer than most of their other releases
60 natious - flashpoint (christian west feel mix 2)
IDs: 1 * cobalt unique
turns out my vinyl was mislabelled on this & i originally thought it was just 'flashpoint part 2'. underrated progtrance classic from 1999
61 lemon demon - the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny
IDs: 6
threw this in as a bit of a joke
watch the accompanying flash animation here: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/285267
62 astral projection - ambient galaxy (disco valley mix)
IDs: 1 * psy-t unique
a 14 minute rework of 'dancing galaxy' which slows it down to half the tempo & adds a breakbeat, along with various other trippy synths
63 everything but the girl - before today (chicane remix)
IDs: 2
one of chicane's less well known remixes, but bears pretty strong similarities to 'sunstroke' which i thought might give this one away a bit easier
64 schiller - ruhe (humate remix)
IDs: 6
awesome slow-building prog-trancer from around 99/2000
65 origene - sanctuary (harry lemon remix)
IDs: 4
big vocal clue on this one which prompted alot of guesswork when it came to the artist. armin used this as the opening tune in his 2004 yearmix, although it was released in 2003
66 the digital blonde - only you
IDs: 4
the similarities to 'fiji' threw alot of people off track on this one, the vocal was originally used in 'praise - only you' from the early 90s, performed by miriam stockley
67 ilay - i saw (yahel remix)
IDs: 0
no-one got this despite the song title being sung in the clip. quite proggy & laidback by yahel's standards
68 kuisma & rusch - yogatech
IDs: 1 * mr.mystery unique
a modern example of 'trance' the way it was supposed to be, released on first second in 2004
69 tegma - our world
IDs: 2
opening tune from the awesome 'around the world in 80 minutes' album, samples lord of the rings
70 lamb - goreki
IDs: 4
downtempo classic from 1997
71 damien heck - alicante
IDs: 0
the last 10 got a little harder.. & it shows! this brooding progressive monster came out on baroque recordings last year
72 sami s - oasis
IDs: 1 * cobalt unique
another one that would have probably gone unidentified if it weren't for a last minute hint.. lovely piece of epic piano-trance
73 memoplay - she drives me
IDs: 0
this was probably the most obscure tune in here so not too surprised people didn't get it. neat little track with an oldskool vibe
74 evasive - rae of sun (firestorm & steve allen remix)
IDs: 0
the hint referred to the last post on this page but no-one worked it out. evasive is a mate of mine & this remix is probably my favourite tune of the year so far
75 marzz - time to space
IDs: 0
several managed to get the source of the sample but none had a stab at what the title might be
76 jet set - into the blue
IDs: 1 * simcut unique
cool little melodic tune released on fog area trance in 2003
77 pound & harris - formentera (bervoets & de goeij remix)
IDs: 3
like ID42, i included this because i spent about 4 years not knowing what it was; it was only last year i found an old tape & recorded a low quality sample to post up on here.. coincidentally it was also released on insolent tracks in 1999
78 dj sammy - l'bby haba
IDs: 0
*slightly* less cheesy than his usual output, but still luckily no-one shamed themselves by knowing it
79 gleave - pure eyes
IDs: 1 * cobalt unique
the second bladerunner-sampling tune on here, although i had no idea of this until someone pointed it out. came out on the flipside of 'lights out' last year
80 terrafusion - essence
IDs: 0
this was a bit of a hopeful longshot but alas, the answer was a mere 2 clicks away in my sig throughout
released earlier this year on (the now bust) equilibrium recordings
Good comp this, nice selection

and.... I feel like an idiot. Can't tell you how many of those tracks I have on my hard drive and failed to ID. Ah well, maybe next time.
Congrats to Cobalt.

Oh, I'm wrong then. I was under the impression that you were ranking by absolute number of points, not percentage versus the average.
Oops, I didn't even realize there were tabs. No wonder I was confused.
