It looks like I'm having difficulty finding Copeland's sets to post on the roll call

So if anyone could be kind enough to post up links to download a couple of Copeland's sets that would be great

As much as I'm super duper excited for Sander K, IMO Copeland is definitely worth coming out early to TiL for

COPELAND = WIN!
I didnt even realize that he would be opening again. Copeland's the MAN!!!!

I can only express myself in a WIKKID WIKKID!!! (in true Sean Cassidy fashion )

Posted by Slixter on Oct-29-2006 18:41:

Copeland's opening but does anybody have an idea of when Sander will hit the decks? My bud's celebrating a birthday that night, but I thought I might be able to make it by before Sander's set begins.

Thank you, Tyler

Roll call updated...

And for the people on the "who's unsure" list...

You still have 5 days to make up your minds

I recommend everyone go early. Last time a big night like this was happening, the bouncers were told to let women in, and older guys who look like they have money to spend. Dress to impress folks!

and that is exactly the reason why I hate when TiL books djs such as Sander and Carl Cox.... pure getting down and dirty house at a fancy shmancy stuck up venue.. anyone find the sense in that? I don't

Posted by cf2thousand on Oct-30-2006 04:22:

Add me to that list + 5 !

Went to This is London for the first time on Friday for the Heaven and Hell party. Nice place, good times !

Yup... that's why Charles opened up this venue. Guv's for another demographic, and Ultra Supper Club for another.

I don't understand what other 'demographics' you're talking about, when I think Sander or Carl Cox I think dirty electro or techno house, people going crazy, sweating and who gives a flying crap.. When I think This is London I think "for an older... more mature crowd.." for socializing and for trying to prove that you are Someone.. and I don't see how those 2 go hand in hand?

good point
like for guys - is it dressier pants or jeans and a dressy shirt or what?

It's pretty dressy (usually no runners, sweats), but if you have a pair of dressy jeans then you might get away with it.

But for special events like this, the club is pretty strict, so it's advisable to stick with a dressy shirt with dress pants or khakis.

lol Nada, I should just run the entire club system in Toronto and decide who goes where no?

but seriously there's a time and place for everything, and TiL until 5a.m is not a time nor a place for Sander!! He's just my favourite and after seeing him at System, Guv, and Stereo, I don't know if I want to have a bad Sander experience at This is (not!!) London..

as for dresscode for guys, it doesn't have to be dressy you just need to look very clean, clean dressy shoes - not the heavy type, something light and comfortable that doesn't look like your regular running shoes.. nice clean jeans - many guys get away with ripped jeans they just have to look stylish rather than trashy, you could wear a plein shirt doesn't have to be a dressy shirt, but it's gotta look clean and not like a t-shirt you'd wear to a gym.. styling your hair a little bit won't hurt, it will just make you look "cleaner"...

its a policy of the club and it's targeting a different clientelle unlike guvernment

as for dress code, do not dress like you're going to a rave and you will have no problems getting in

Posted by TheVrk on Oct-30-2006 12:10:

Sanderrrrrr.....

Have fun everyone

exactly, gera.

the club's clientel is quite similar to the crowd that you would find in The Drink on saturdays. that would explain why so many of you complain and whine about TIL, all of you are gallery/guv main room people.

no, the crowd is not snobby like most of you say they are. they are actually very friendly. myself and gera (and a few other ta's) have been there enough times over the past few months to know.

it all boils down to one thing: different strokes for different folks.

Posted by Skipper on Oct-30-2006 15:28:

this is london is as much fun as you make it.

that said, after going to a proper party at 99 sudbury on friday, I am reminded of why I never really feel satisfied after a night at TIL. It just doesn't have that vibe that you usually associate with the music of the DJ you're there to hear.

Glam vs. Grime mate, not everyone wants the same thing when they go clubbing. I try to keep a healthy balance of both (although I'd like to think I spill over more into fancy pantsy)
