Man oh man they don't make it easy on us, do they? The brutality of the choices open to New Year's Eve connoisseurs is positively dumbfounding. And it just got dumbfounding-er (no, that's not a word). Party-throwers/venue Ten15 have arranged their own Sunday, December 31st ecstatic gathering at, yes, the 1015 club on Folsom in San Francisco, and it is outstanding by all accounts. Proudly titled Rise of the Phoenix (majestic, isn't it?), this big time bash boasts a full 18 DJs spinning everything from trance to house to hip-hop, six themed environments, 20,000 square feet of party space, heated outdoor areas, aerial and exotic performances, Northern California's largest cryogenic liquid nitrogen display (what?), a full-spectrum laser/light show, plus complimentary hors d'oeuvres for the early birds who show up by nine PM. How on the planet earth could you possibly want more than this? Read on to be more thoroughly mind-blown.

So, over the course of this ear-destroying 12 hour dance-a-palooza, these are the regal giants who will be gracing you with fine sounds: Matt Darey, Rank 1, The Thrillseekers, Taj, Cyber Joe, Dirtyhertz, Mystre, John Beaver, Koroma, Shaun and Turbine, DJ Vahid, DJ Mita, DJ Hil, Pat Allen, DJ Ill Tracks, plus more TBA. As you should already know, these are some big names, with big skills, and big ideas when it comes to getting a dance floor moving and grooving. Needless to say, they very much will accomplish this goal. So show up early to score the free snacks to provide your feet/legs the much needed energy so you can dance until long after the sun comes up to the trance, house, down-tempo, hip-hop, breaks, progressive, etc, sounds.

Steve Helstrip aka The Thrillseekers has been looming large in the dance music consciousness for at least seven years now, due to his consistently smash hits (most recently By Your Side), euphoric remix work (for luminaries like Tiesto, Timo Maas, etc), and beloved live performances at taste-making global clubs ranging from The Ministry to Godskitchen to Gatecrasher. But his empire's only continued to grow and expand due to him landing some of the past decade's most massive and ubiquitous hits (i.e. Synaesthesia, andDreaming Of You), so of course his live/DJ sets are unbelievably unforgettable. You are humbly besieged to, please, seek the thrill.

Dog Running Dresscode @ NYE 1015?

Is there a dress code at 1015 or is it the same as usual? I'm thinking of wearing jeans and dress shoes with a collared short sleeve dressy shirt. Is this cool?

THe track that was later redone a bit and became Airwave? The track that was originally a tribute to someone.

Believe it was called The Quest (Benno De Goeij) - C Sharp?

BTW Taj, do you ever sleep? I thought I never did (I have a baby, so I have an excuse), but I think you make posts on these boards at more random times of the day than I do.

Posted by Insomnia`SF on Dec-30-2006 20:40:

Okay guys i dunno if this is the right place for this, but i figure someone reading this will be able to help me out with this dilemma if they should so choose.

I've enjoyed Thrillseekers productions since the first i ever heard - definitely one of my favorite producers. The last time i saw Steve at 1015 ealier this year he absolutely blew the roof off and it was one of the most fun times i've ever had at a party, and seeing the name thrillseekers on the flier for this nye party is most of the reason i'm going to be dragging myself and all my friends over there around 2am tomorrow night.

But please, please, please can someone tell me wtf is up with the name the thrillseekers. I mean first of all it's not G&D, B&J, A&B, or Deep Dish, so why a plural name for one guy (please excuse the obvious flaw that 1/2 of those aren't even plural names for a duo/treo). And secondly and more importantly, when i'm talking to someone about trance productions or producers, i'm embarassed to say the name thrillseekers becuase it just kind of sounds silly, white-trash mountain dewish, and poseresque - i want to just say steve helstrip, but unfortunately most people who aren't serious trance addicts don't associate the two and don't know who helstrip is even if they know his music.

So if there's some kind of a story behind this, or a good explanation for the name, or if anyone else even shares my plight about this, enhance my understanding with your wisdom!
