Yeah.. most tracks play for an average of 2 min each. I think it's a good overview of most of the bigger tunes of the year. Plus, everything is all mixed in key, so most of the mixes blend together properly.

The way I see it is that we had the whole year to get to know these tracks, appreciate them and pick our favourites.. Now Armin just puts them in a nice compact, mixed format and it's one of those sets that you can listen to after some years pass and remember what trance of 2006 was about

Listened to them both twice now,
this is purely based on MY preferred tastes, which lean toward
more a progressive sound:

CD1: WOW From the start all the way till like 40mins
is EXACTLY my favekind of trance - proggy, bit mellower, to me heavenly.
I NEVER give 10s (dont believe in 'em), this one's above 9, maybe 9.5.

CD2: Really good disc, especially the beginning, then a lull, and the
last 2o mins or so are sick upbeat trance.
To my tastes, maybe an 8.

Either way, better than 2005, not quite 2004. GREAT lsiten

I finished listening to them. I agree that it is wierd 2 min each track but whole cd actually lasts almost my drive time to Toronto so i can hear all of these great tunes before a big party, thats nice. BTW i mixed a cd with same idea over 30songs in an hour to listen to in the car, if anyone interested i can ul somewhere. (more house tho)

The track list looks good, missing a few I thought would be there.
Let me give this a full listening 3 more times before judging it.

Today's the day for most of us who have waited to the official release! (at least on ASOT)

The last year or so has really seen my tastes change quite a bit.
I never stopped liking trance, but did go into a bit of a hibernation, concentrating a lot more on house.

These cd's have totally woken me up from my slumber though...
I am currently dancing around my appartment in boxer shorts and flip flops packing to go home for christmas, jamming to disc two!

Hows that for a mental image?
