I still have the ticket for the Sasha - Better Days Last Dancy party. The funny part for that party was I spent the night in the Warehouse instead listening to Anne Savage. My friends thought Sasha was spinning too slow so we left for some hard house!
I'm surprised nobody mentioned DECADANCE 2006 , Danny Howells & Lee Buuridge just blew me away that night ,i remember at some point (when they were both on DJ booth and the whole room was fool of mist and Danny dropped a trippy shit and everybody was in shock & me n my buddy were like Ooo Ooo What da Fuck is happening here ...
What a party , greatt line- up

#1 Above & Beyond, 2006
(What happened this year guys?!?!?!?)
#2 Infected Mushroom, 2006
(Back to back with A&B no less!)
#3 Mark Oliver (After Above and Beyond, 2007)
(Good job Mark on saving A&B's ass! Helsinki Scorchin ROCKED the house!)

After a summer of slowly discovering "progressive" and moving away from more mainstream house, this party solidified my love of the sound. Imagine a gorgeous late summer Sunday morning, 8am, doors to the mainroom wide open with the sun streaming into the main room. Dancefloor was still packed and Sasha is dropping bomb after bomb of the most amazing records I'd ever heard. The first time the riff of Twilo Thunder dropped will remain as one of the defining moments of my partying career! Flash to 2 weeks later and Sasha's San Fran GU comes out and I get to relive that Sasha set over and over. |

i thought decadence last year was rubbish!
lee was great, sander was uber meh, and danny was meh (that's right kids, i said it!). danny vs lee redeemed it a bit at the end, but overall it was a total waste of money for me.
besides, i think all my good nights in there happened years ago, when i could actually tolerate the place.
Many a fun night out @ The Guv...will have to think about this for a few and get back.
I thought Lee was great, and Danny was playing minimal-esque tunes that I like.
Sander was def blah. He is no longer a dj i care about.
I'm going to list my top (2), as they are the only ones that came to mind INSTANTLY when first seeing this thread - and if we're talking strictly Main Room parties, well these ones were on a totally different level than any of the others I attended.
#1.)Picotto - Canada Day (2001).
This was just twisted, brain-fucking music at it's best. I don't know what ever happened to this guy, but on this night he was just on fire. 'FUCKED HER..... ALL NIGHT!'.... lol - jebus. Second ever party I had been to, and although I was a n00b - I partied like a savvy veteran.
#2.) Deep Dish - GU Release Party (2002).
I was so close to not even coming to this one. I had my company Christmas party just down the road at the Westin Harbour, and was as drunk as I had ever been. Dressed in a full suit, around 4:00am in the morning in some random girls hotel room smoking a blunt - in mid toke, I decided to go. I ripped off my tie, and stumbled down to Guvy by myself in a snow storm. I puked in line, then popped a pill once inside.
The rest is history.

bring back sasha!
that is all.
I've only been to the Guv once, since I don't even live in Canada. And that was for Labour of love 06, it was definitely cool, although the place was way too crowded.
