Highlights for me where the Radio One Pool Party & Nikki Beach Juicy Party.

Both were so much fun and offered alot of good talent.

Good to see all the TA's I ran into!

Relaxed last night, beach for a few before I get my ass movin for Radio 1.

*knocks on wall* Shelley? Rachel? you up? hahaahaha

names of all the hockey players or STFU

I would guess Spezza, McGrattan, Emery, Heatley and maybe Corvo because he would fit in more than anyone else being all jacked with tatoos

I saw a shit-ton of these on the beach washed up on shore. Weird... sorry to hear you got stung: they looked like they could pack a punch.

Wednesday March 21st

up bright and early for a 9:30 am flight which was le awesome because there was hardly anyone on the plane, so i got to take over 3 seats and have a nap. arrived in south beach around 1:00ish and had to wait until 2:00 to check in, so we wandered around and got money, ate, etc. i also managed to lose my debit card within the first hour that we were there and i wasn't even drunk! (you will all be pleased to know that i recovered it the next day at the good old bank of america).

went to see danny howells @ pawn shop at night. we arrived just before midnight and i have to say pawn shop may be one of my favourite clubs ever. i just loved the setup....all these wierd objects in corners, the schoolbuses, the dj booth that's like a truck, everything! none of this upscale crap, just a really fun and interesting space. and danny's set was phenomenal. honestly, it's one of the best that i've heard him play ever. it was so nice to hear a proper extended set from open to (almost) close by him. the build was seamless, and the music was just so good, we didn't want to leave. like seriously each track was better than the next. however, by 6:30 a.m., i'd pretty much been awake for 25 hours and was barely able to stand any more from exhaustion, let alone dance, even though it seriously pained me to leave before the end. we found out on friday that we only missed 2 hours, which made me feel a wee bit better.

Thursday, March 22nd

got literally sandblasted on the beach and rained on! hit up the national hotel to register as "music enthusiasts" LOL. really cool set up outside with a long narrow pool running along the back of the hotel with the dj booth at the end of it. why does nobody swim in the pool at these things?! seriously i would have been in the water if i'd remembered my bathing suit! caught a bit of the scrumfrog, who was allright, but not really my thing. opted to not go out that night and instead sleep like the dead for 11 hours.

Friday, March 23rd

woke up to the sunshine streaming in through the windows for the first time since we'd been there and thus headed to the beach. apparently i forgot just how really, really white i am...also forgot that i shouldn't be out on the beach between the hours of noon and 3 pm. also forgot to reapply sunscreen after being in the water. needless to say, i burned myself to a crisp! ouch.

went to the m_nus showcase at the national that afternoon and caught most of magda's set and a little bit of hawtin's, which were both super good.

hit up fixed @ studio A that night. the club itself was gorgeous - chandeliers, big dancefloor, beautiful bar at the back, but the sound was so horrific that we couldn't even be on the dancefloor unless we wanted our ears to bleed, it was so loud. unfortunately, we had already missed datarock by the time we got there, and the music was pretty good when we arrived, however it quickly went downhill. it was just all fucking over the place and at some points just noise. totally not my scene. i don't even know who was spinning, but we barely lasted 2 hours there - we couldn't even wait for justice to come on at 3:15. but oh well, to have one crap night out of the whole trip is really not so bad.

Saturday, March 24th

wandered around south beach during the day, got rained on, and then went to SOS @ the fifth that night. we arrived shortly after midnight and they were already on in their matching shirts (le bless!). again, the fifth is a really nice club. super high ceilings, a few steps leading up to the dj booth, which was a bit reminiscent of sonic. the music was fantastic! didn't recognize anything, but shook my ass for the next 5 hours. such a good time! really, really glad i got the opportunity to see them cos they were amazing.

Sunday, March 25th

had a 5 hour nap after SOS and then headed back to pawn shop for sunday school for degenerates. what followed was the best event of the conference for me. we arrived around noon, and headed straight for the "terrace" (aka the parking lot). there were 2 other rooms open inside but it was basically pitch black cos there were no lights on - finding the bathroom without walking into a wall was pretty amusing - and most people were outside. anja schneider was on outside by this point, we caught the last half hour or so of her set which was quite good. then adultnapper was next and i got a bit bored at the beginning, so went to check out magda in the back room for a while. came back outside probably 15 minutes later and the music was so much better. i doubt that mr. adultnapper has any idea of the hours of amusement that we derived from him. LOL. but seriously, he was so good. from then on, there was never a lull, each set kept building off the previous one and i was pretty much in musical heaven. i was really, really, really looking forward to finally hearing steve bug, as i've wanted to for a while, and holy fuck - i am pretty much musically in love with him! those two hours that he was on were filled with some of the best music that i have ever heard. mr c was on next and again - another person i've always wanted to check out who totally exceeded my expectations. cassy came on around 6 pm and i had to be one of those people who asks who the dj is cos i'd never heard of her and the schedule was a bit fucked up. she was also fantastic. i just can't get over how amazing the music was. i did not stop dancing for the 7 hours that we were there. all the djs were just sort of wandering around - adam beyer stepped on my foot, the dollz at play were near us and they are pretty much the coolest looking ladies i have ever seen, burridge and hawtin were also there. ah! i just had the best time ever at sunday school! i think the bar has been raised for every clubbing event from now on.

Monday, March 26th

a very important thing i learned today: if you think you've put sunscreen on everywhere, you haven't. managed to burn myself again on the beach! zut alors! time to fly home. a very, very sad day indeed.

ALSO! a wave in the ocean THREW me onto the sand at the bottom and it was super sharp and rocky and it cut me. wtf?! the ocean cut me! ******s.

then some seaweed stung my hand. i also got burnt to a crisp.

i love the beach!

I heard Jonathan Peters stunk up Space/Shelborne. Is that true? Why is that guy so big (in the US), anyway?

Party of the conference for me had to be Evolve @ Twilo with Calderone, DJ Vibe, Richie Santana and Peter Bailey. Twilo is a fucking sick club!

The Evolve Pool Party with Tenaglia, Chus and Ceballos and Calderone was fun too!
