It was great to see many Spundae regulars at Avalon but it still isn't the same.... I sincerely hope someday I'm able to have as much fun at Avalon as I did at Circus week after week....

Would you say the funness at Avalon has improved since Spundae's arrival there?

Just curious. Cause if it's already noticeable, a lot faster than I expected. When Spundae started doing most of their bookings at Ruby Skye here (a decision I hated at the time), I was always hoping the crowd would change. It's taken a lot of time, but it certainly has since a few years ago...still not perfect, but the crowds when Spundae plays there is pretty darn good most of the time.

I would have to say its getting better... not the best... still some assholes like Mike Lord, Josh Allen, and Aj... but other than those weirdos... its not too bad

Bob played psy-trance opening for Satoshi

he was in another room... Hector played before Satoshi

i may be an asshole, but why you gotta call me a wierdo for?

I have been twice since the move, Blank and jones last month and then saturday night. Both times was different for me, but the crowd wasnt that different overall.

sat felt a bit better cause we were all tucked away up in the spider club and were not exposed to typical avalon, but once in the main room it is just the same old spot

+1...the crowd in the main room is no different really. the 2 spider club and the terrace or whatever that area is wasnt bad.

Heard from people that the lines were crazy, parking was a big hassle, and at one point people that were on the terrace & Spider room weren't let into the main room. Is that true?

it is true..but it was due to dumb ass avalon security confusion and not having a clue what was going on.

Posted by TSG on Mar-20-2007 04:40:

That's normal for them.

Posted by djFEI-FEI on Mar-20-2007 06:26:

There's always parking in the $8 lots on Hollywood/Argyle. Easy peasy!

Thanks again to everyone who made it out and danced their asses off!!!

Too much fun...

Fei-Fei

haha yep.

and parking..i always just exit hollywood and then turn left on vine. get in the very right lane and there is a parking lot just before the light. it seems to always have spots.

A good lot is the one on Selma & Vine. Ben when you get off on Hollywood, bust a left on Vine (will probably be a big pain in the ass ) then another left on Selma. It tends to be a little cheaper ($5 or $6) and there's a bit of a walk...but it's much better than paying $10-$15.

i had a great time regardless of what room i was in!!! although i didn't make it downstairs as much as i had intended. the local djs kept my booty shaking for most of the night. i caught alot of austin scott's and all of mike lords and wow!!!!!! thanks for that. sorry for giving you shit at first

and then i caught a good portion of fei-fei's set and that girl tore it up. and then bob, yay, psy-trance and he played my song!! so much fun dancing. i haven't danced that much in a while. so great to see everyone and the vibe was so great, more so in the upstairs two rooms but i usually don't have too many issues with the downstairs anymore. i just stay away from the serious crack heads and create a good space and then it's all good.

i'm sorry to say i missed most of satoshi's set, i heard a couple of tracks and i liked what i heard but by 4:30 the group i was with was ready to head out. my legs were killing me so it seemed like a good stopping point.

lots of fun though, and dave t, it feels like the vibe is shifting already. probably not as quickly for some but these things take time i would assume. hey, we already have tons more peeps from spundae there already so it's already great to me

anyways, thanks locals, you guys rock!

So, I assume everyone liked the private Spundae room (other than the idiot door man)???

we had our own smoking patio... gotta admit that was kinda cool

Yah the funniest thing was when that guy wouldn't let me back in later to get my stuff...saying, all DJ's have wristbands...and looked at me like i was making shit up hahaha.

BILLY!!!!!!!

hehe...wee!

ill agree with Josh. been there for the AHP (afterhourpower) as well as the other Spundae nights... it was a tad different on the upper room compared on the main and on the terrace.

i may say the spider room was playing the old Spundae@Circus vibe... pounding hard is what people might be looking for.. the mainroom was a bit slow for me. its just my opinion...

Overall the Event was great! another one for the record. not the best but getting better!

Yes, it has improved but only a bit. I'll be patient tho and wait for it to get even better. I just have a feeling the crowd won't change that much since Spundae's role at Avalon is so small and they won't be able to bring certain djs out like they used to....
