mixed fresh vegetables (green/red/orange peppers, baby carrots, celery, cherry tomatoes) 0.436 Kg
 three plain rice cakes
 one green apple
two pieces of sugar free gum (completely helped subside sugar/coffee cravings)
half cup of live natural 1% yogurt
 three tablespoons of oats
 two tablespoons of honey
 four large strawberries
 fourteen whole roasted, unsalted almonds
0.184 Kg of Tilapia Fish, fresh
two bottles of Nestle Pure Life 500mL water
 one quarter lemon
 fourty green grapes
 300mg of iron w/ 500 mg vitamin C
 45 minutes of vigorous cardio
 30 crunches before bed

Observations: Eating easy to digest foods makes you get hungrier faster. My cravings for coffee and sugar were insane, but the gum really helped tone it down.

I was asked to go to the bar tonight with a friend, and I declined and explained why. She laughed. Seems like people don't take these things very seriously.

Fuck em

P.S. To the previous post... no doctor told me to do this, this was a choice I made on my own because I wanted to clean out my body. Kthx

yeah one thing about your cleanse is you aren't getting any complex carbohydrates in...because the no wheat bread thing so that's why you're getting hungry quickly.

eating simple carbohydrates spikes your insulin levels and burns off quickly so you could get hungry again and get a little fatigued...

I think a lot of this is mental. I mean, right now I have this insanely strong desire to walk down to the store and get a nice hunk of chocolate cake.

LOL!

However, if I wasn't aware that I was "detoxing", I doubt I would want anything.

Hopefully the sugar and bread cravings dissipate quickly.

Posted by Arbiter on Mar-28-2007 04:30:

"Detox" is all a load of bollocks if you ask me, but good luck regardless.

Well, I'm a vegitarian so your "diet" has more types of foods in it than I eat naturally. I dunno about the detox shit, but you should really be eating like that anyways theres nothing abnormal about that diet... but you are american so blah blah blah let me stereotype and insult you as if my nation was any different.

Anyways um i think i was gonna say something useful or something.

oh yeah, tofu, quorn, soy etc, is not actually that good for you. Infact they should be very limited, as soy may actually be fairly bad for you. Look up some keywords about soy not being good, and you'll find a load of shit. Like anything it can be debated, but that stuff tastes like shit anyways.

Posted by beats and beeps on Mar-28-2007 07:08:

i'd like to double post and add that soy products and tofu and shit will certainly have more toxins in it than wheat (which you are cutting out)
heres like a youtube video you might wanna watch if you're into that instead of reading.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjZs0DGW1Jk
he seems like a knob, but whatever. The only reason i'm going on about this is because I used to use soy to get protein alot when i dropped meat, so obviously its fairly interesting to me.

Posted by RandomGirl on Mar-28-2007 23:18:

I just had the most disgusting dinner EVAR!! Blech.

Day 2:

300 mg of Iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C
"Arthur's Carrot Smoothie" (carrot juice, apple juice, banana puree, mango puree, passionfruit juice, beta-carotene, vitamin C)
 2 bananas
0.408 Kg of mixed veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, celery, green/red/orange peppers, cucumber, cherry tomatoes)
113 raisins (LOL, yes, I counted them)
 52 almonds
4 rice cakes (intermittenly throughout the day)
 2 bottles of water
 2 pcs. of gum
very small bowl of my gross dinner (rice vermicelli with carrots, broccoli and cauliflower, and two tblspns of pure balsamic vinegar)
 bowl of pure apple sauce
 40 green grapes
 1 can of tuna
300 mg of iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C
 800 IU of vitamin E

Note: balsamic vinegar does not taste anything like balsamic vinegrette. It is incredibly potent, so VERY small helpings are suggested.

Observations: coffee cravings were pretty bad today as I was feeling REALLY tired, and mildly weak. Not entirely sure if the fatigue is diet related or not. Cravings subsided quickly (when I was occupied).

Fecal matter is maleable and VERY dark, looking almost black in colour. I am peeing about every 45 mins (way more than I used to,) but urine colour is normal.

Not much excercise today (other than moving some full beer cases). Feeling exhausted and having difficulty finding energy to work out.

Posted by RandomGirl on Mar-28-2007 23:28:

Oh, and I am curious to know if anyone else has trouble swallowing apple sauce. For some reason, I cannot seem to swallow it very easily... it's weird.

Posted by Frenchie on Mar-28-2007 23:30:

I LOVE APPLESAUCE! <3 I swallow it like everything is.

Posted by Orbax on Mar-28-2007 23:34:

Applesauce thats cooked kind of gets ruined and turned into a bowl of sugar pudding >.<

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Mar-29-2007 00:49:

I love apples but can't stand applesauce. Go figure.

Posted by RandomGirl on Mar-29-2007 20:58:

Day 3:

 300 mg iron w/ 500 mg vitamin C
 1 banana
"Arthur's Green Energy Smoothie" (apple juice, banana puree, passionfruit juice, prune plum puree, spirulina, soy lecithin, wheat and barley grasses, vitamin C)
 30 grapes
 half a cucumber
 1 tomato
 1 half lemon
 3 rice cakes
 summer berry herbal tea
 32 almonds
large salad (iceberg lettuce, red onions, tomatos, cucumbers, celery)
 1 green apple
 0.204 Kg of Haddock
2.5 cups of mixed steamed veggies (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower)
 2 bottles of water
 3 pcs. of gum
1 advil 400 mg (is that cheating? )
300 mg of iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C

Observations: I am feeling freaking awesome today. Oh... and that tea was soooooo sour. Too much lemon?

Edit: My allergies seemed to be heightened. Cigarette smoke overly aggravating the senses. Not easy to find detox friendly food when hungry.

LOL! Thanks for the concern I will make sure to post when there are changes

Day 4:

300 mg of iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C
 2 bananas
 4 rice cakes
 37 raisins
 33 almonds
large salad (icerberg lettuce, tomato, carrot, cucumber)
100% minute maid pure apple juice
1 cup of steamed mixed veggies (carrot, brocolli, cauliflower)
1.62 lb. of mixed fruit (blueberry, blackberry, pineapple, honeydew melon, raspberry, watermelon)
 2 bottles of water
A LOT of water in a glass, with one slice of lemon
 2 pcs. of gum
300 mg of iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C

Observations: I came home last night and a pizza guy was walking in with me. I have never craved pizza, or salt more in my entire life. Not cheating on my diet is REALLY hard. I went into a cafe thing to get my salad, and there were SOOOO many good smelling things that I wanted BAD. I went out tonight, and people were eating garlic bread beside me... oh man, I wanted it. Biggest craving = feta cheese!

I am pissing like a race horse. My boss pointed out today that I have been going to the bathroom constantly. Good news - urine is completely clear.

I am feeling "cleaner", and less bloated. I feel like my thinking is more clear, and I am able to focus a little better. I really think that this diet is encouraging some weight loss (even though that wasn't the intention), but I can't really tell at this point.

I have been EXHAUSTED, however... to be fair I have worked a night shift, an opening shift, and then a night shift, and another opening shift consecutively, which = no sleep for Theresa.

People are CONSTANTLY giving me a hard time about my decision to detox. I can't understand why however, seeing as I am eating healthier now than I ever have.

I've been getting headaches intermittently, however, I am not sure if that is diet related.

Anyway, I updated yesterdays intake as well.

Day 5:

300 mg of iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C
0.761 lb of mixed fruit (strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, watermelon, honeydew melon, pineapple)
 bowl of pure apple sauce
large salad (icerberg lettuce, tomato, carrot, cucumber, celery)
mixed berry green tea w/ slice of lemon
 22 almonds
plate of rice vermicelli w/ carrots broccoli and cauliflower
 1/4 lemon
 3 rice cakes
 1/2 a cucumber
fruit freezie (pineapple, raspberry, strawberry, ice, honey = blended)
small bowl of fruit (pineapple, banana, red/green grapes, melon, strawberries)
 tonnes of water
 1 piece of gum
300 mg of iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C

Observations: Not as hungry as I was before. Urinating constantly. Not craving sugar nearly as bad as I was, but craving salt pretty badly.

Day 6:

300 mg of iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C
 bowl of apple sauce
large salad (iceberg lettuce, tomato, carrot, cucumber, celery)
 can of v8
 mixed berry green tea
 3 rice cakes
fruit freezie (pineapple, raspberry, honey, ice = blended)
 3 pcs. of gum
 14 almonds
 30 grapes
 0.2 kg of baked salmon
about 540 mL of whole white potatoes
 1/4 lemon
300 mg of iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C

Observations: Cravings for sugar today were really bad. LOVED the salmon... probably the best meal I have had taste wise since I started this diet.

Day 7:

300 mg of iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C
 30 almonds
 3 rice cakes
large salad (iceberg lettuce, carrots, tomato, cucumber, celery)
0.356 kg of mixed fruit (watermelon, strawberries, blueberry, pineapple, kiwi, melon)
 2 cans of v8
 0.198 kg of baked salmon
 2 1/2 tablespoons of honey
 3 tablespoons of oats
 7 strawberries
 3/4 plain live yogurt
 lots and lots of water
300 mg of iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C

Observations: Cravings are pretty much gone. I am feeling awesome Fecal matter is still black, however, it comes out solid, and then completely disintegrates once it is in water. (Sorry for the grossness).

Urine was unusually yellow, but not urinating AS often (but still alot). Energy levels are better. Skin is REALLY soft, and any remaining acne has disappeared. Hair feels silkier. Eyes seem to focus quicker. Headaches intermittently Keeping track of everything I eat is a pain in the arse. LOL!

I do eat relatively sensibly, 3 decent meals a day + a lot of fruit. I still think it's daft to count out stuff, as if an extra strawberry a day is going to bring the 'detox' process to a halt.

Posted by LiquidNitrogen on Apr-03-2007 22:44:

acai berry > anything you have there in the list

I don't think the amount really matters, but since I am keeping a log, I figure I would count and measure my meals as well. It makes sense to me.

Posted by RandomGirl on Apr-04-2007 07:47:

Day 8:

300 mg of iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C
 40 grapes
A lot of unsalted sunflower seeds
2 tblsp. of honey w/ chai tea
 4 rice cakes
 60 raisins
0.85 lb of mixed fruit (watermelon, melon (green and orange), black/blue/straw berries, pineapple)
huge plate of veggies (red/green peppers, cucumber, celery, tomato, broccoli, carrots)
 0.11 kg of cod fillet
 1/4 lemon
 tonnes of water
300 mg of iron w/ 500 mg of vitamin C

Observations: Cravings for salt are back. I am DYING for salt Seriously... feta cheese is all I can think about (that shit is laced with crack man!)

I called my granny today and let her know that I can't eat the easter dinner on Sunday I am going to bake some salmon and bring that with me instead. She said she would make be a baked potato on the side for me, and there will be some fresh veggies. I am REALLY wanting to quit my diet right now.

I woke up before my alarm today, and STAYED up. This has NEVER happened before, so that's a big deal. I am feeling a lot more energized. I am not burning out as badly as I was before.

I spoke too soon when I said all acne disappeared. I had a couple break-outs... however, to be fair, it is PMS week (btw, for those of you who don't understand what PMS is... it stands for *PRE* menstrual).

Urine, back to clear. Fecal matter... same. I am tired now, so off to bed. Goodnight.
