WHY CAN'T THEY HAVE BOTH?

Theres millions of cute little girlies who, newsflash, CAN ACT.

If the movie's acting had even a touch more class in it, I might have loved the entire film. But every action scene was ruined by some stupid joke or line that went no where.

"I'm not leaving without bumblebee"[/monotonous voice off]

I mean what the fuck, they're in the middle of robots fighting in downton LA and this chick sounds like she's at the hair salon on a sunday.

"Sam, I need you to help me with something" as optimus prime and megatron are fighting to the death.

She should quit acting and just do porn imo, her skills would fit right in.

I could list hundreds. But I don't feel like going on IMDB just to prove a point.

megan fox wasn't THAT bad, imo the script was eh and everyone in that movie said something corny/dumb at some point. not meant to be a movie full of substance so don't know why people expected it to be, it's about cool ass robots fighting each other. it was entertaining.

I didn't expect it, but I wanted it. I'm sorry that I dont like shit acting when the budget is millions of dollars wide. The kid actually had some funny lines, like when he said he was making a book on brain damage in football. His acting was actually very good I thought, but the girl was absolutely piss poor.

As I said, the action scenes were beautifully done though.

Yeah Shia LaBeouf is actually a good actor, I mean I expected more as well but after thinking about it concluded good acting wasn't necessarily the focus of the movie. Personally I don't plan on going to see it again because it's not worth it to me but it was worth seeing overall. I kind of wished there were more scenes with Josh Duhamel, Tyrese and the other guys

Definitely, it was just clear to me that most of it pandered to the lowest common denominator, unfortunatley I am not that person.

Also, some of the product placement reached new depths. At points I felt like I was watching one long car commercial.

it was pg13 so aimed at younger audiences not necessarily the lcd. i know a bunch of people who really loved the movie who aren't exactly stupid. as for the product placement yeah i noticed that too but it's been getting progressively worse in blockbusters these past couple of years.

I actually don't mind product placement if it's tastefully done and doesn't scream "I'M ALMOST A FUCKING COMMERCIAL "

Shit I don't mind almost anything if it's tastefully done, but this film lacked in that department.

It was a good film over-all, great to see in theaters but def not something I'll buy. Alot of it could have been done so much better.

i went to the premier (sp) and fell asleep before the commercials was over and woke up in the middle of the movie.. right about the part where the parents thought what i presume was the main characters, was jerking off.. so i sat there, not understanding a crap of the movie..

BADASS MOVIE! Saw it yesterday

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Jul-08-2007 18:52:

i saw this movie the other night, and i have mixed reviews about it. i enjoyed transformers when i was young, so when i first heard about this project, i threw my arms up in disgust thinking this would be an overplayed CGI effect movie trying to sell graphics and blood.

after watching this movie, the bad news is that imo, the script was poorly written, the plot line was meek (the usual for most action movies), too many overplayed clichs being said by most of the characters, and a blatant marketing attempt by Chevy to promote their line of 2008 cars. the good news is that it was an enjoyable of almost 2 1/2 hours of pure robot fun, people running around, and the fight scene at the end was pretty good.

btw, i also saw the trailer of the new J.J. Abrams project, and i am feeling shaky about this movie. from reports on the internet, it looks like the movie is going to be shot from "first person" view, reminding me of the "blair witch project" .............

Agree completely.

My friend and I were spotting the scenes/ideas that appeared to be ripped off from other movies (the matrix, con air, Men In Black) like seriously where was the originality in this flick?

Definitely lots of Michael Bay + Steven Spielberg action as expected so if you want mindless action then it's great. Just don't expect any more.

The finding the cube plot was just ridiculase! Along with some other moments. The CGI transformations for the most part were smooth (like in the air transformation into planes).

Peter Cullen's voice is still as great as ever, brought back so many memories from the opening Prime intro. Too bad Frank Welker didn't do Megatron but Hugo Weaving did well.

Of course Megan Fox helped keep me interested also

Oh and the soundtrack suited the action well. Ain't no Stan Bush but served its purpose well.
