No, as a matter of fact, I've said many times either in this thread or the other that this sort of IP ban is uncalled for.

Jake, I know I haven't been around a lot lately but Nou hasn't been "fucked-up" online for quite a long time, has he?

It's been almost a year since his "major offense" occurred and Del did allow him to return after that which really surprised a lot of us. But since he was allowed to return he's played nice, hasn't he? I guess he got upset when one of the older male TAs threatened to post nudie pics of one of the younger female TAs but that was months ago, too...

Sure he pokes fun at some of us every now and then...

No, the problems that evening were separate. The stuff I'm talking about was from the following day and was an all-day deal. It's my understanding that a mod confirmed that it was a blanket IP ban.

Imagine you ran a forum. A member repeatedly broke the rules and tried to blackmail you with shutting down your site. When you suspended his account, instead of serving out his suspension he would come back under alt accounts. When you deleted or try to stop this type of action he'd use a proxy to hide his identity.

Do you really think Del should welcome him back and let by gones be by gones? Because you know that if Nou broke the rules in the future he'd just do the same thing that he's doing now.

But I'm sure you and he must feel he's the victim not TA and the mods who have to spend countless hours dealing with this prick.

I'm for an IP ban for him, but only him. Since he can change his IP, it makes no sense

I support him when he does good but he certainly deserved to be perma-banned for trying to take out TA. He did serve out his suspension for doing that, but I'm surprised that the only thing he was given for that issue was a suspension and not a perma-ban. Del fucking hates him, but Nou has managed to get around everything Del put in place to keep him out.

He's managed to get around everything that's been put in place against him. What else would you propose Del do? I've been pushing for the longest time for Del to reinstate having to approve users before they're given posting privileges because not only would that more than likely eliminate the Nou issue but it would get rid of the influx of spammers we've had since Del removed approval for new users. For some reason, however, he decided to neglect that option even though it's the most logical choice.

The only other options available outside of that are to either contact his ISP and have them warn him, or blanket-ban the ISP. The latter occurred in this case, so they've accomplished what they set out to do.

Really my main gripe with this issue is the method they used.
