Sure i have tried it, i agree its not for everyone, but i am one for anything new and open minded to new ideas. I actually like the idea of online dating.

nah, many (not all but many) guys just brag about what they're getting in the sack

Comon, it's always the girl who gleefully tells everyone she's "in love", sends his pic all over the net and has him talk to her friends over the phone, etc. And if it goes further, everyone will get to see "the ring" while the guy is like, "hey guys, I just got engaged .. lets go see some strippers and celebrate .. pass the beernuts."

And now you open this can of worms...

I am very interested in human behaviours and always have been. I observe conversations and body language and I can usually tell you exactly what is going on - EQ it is called. Part of my learning curve about humans and their quirks has been my own personal relationships and I can GUARANTEE you that what MOST boys share in the open and what they really feel are two very different things.

I was engaged in England. My fiance adored me as I did him but he had this strange habit of protecting his status with his friends by making 'Rach won't let me' and 'Rach will be mad' comments to things he didn't want to do.

Male pride is hilarious to me.

If you made a bunch of guys take a lie detector test asking if they wanted to go to the rippers, most would say yes (to fit in with the 'boys') and be shown as lying on the test. Women would be the complete opposite, most would say no and mean yes (we are curious creatures).

well what can I say, I bagged myself a different one

Posted by Spin Laden on Apr-25-2007 17:19:

Guys negatively impact each others' behaviour for sure. Girls are foolish sometimes to date guys who play sports, who are in the military, fraternities, etc, 'cause they are always gonna be guys who are among male degenerates 24/7.

BTW, those guys who are lying about seeing rippers are probably just broke

I have 1 really nice story which ended in a stable friendship, but the remaining people I have met online have been complete weirdos!

I hear there is still hope, you just have to be patient until you meet someone who compliments you.

I have lost all patience though.

I have always earned significantly more than my boyfriends...

I wholeheartedly agree with the latter part of your statement though

I think it is more like... women are wooed, men are seduced

Wait until you are 28 sweets, I had to. And even though it feels like I was meant to be with Adam, that everything I have ever learned and every part of my personality that formed was to match, compliment or complete him (and vice versa - something to be said from 2 people that believed they were already complete), I am still very aware that not a lot lasts forever, or even a long time any more so I am going to nurture and enjoy every second.

Be truly, madly, deeply in love with yourself and then *this* will come and knock you on your ass and make you wonder wtf happened. Even if you don't want it. I didn't.

I see it equally amongst both sexes - usually attributed to peer pressure + lack of confidence.

Women (or should I say girls? :P) are notorious for this, it is rare to find a nice girl who has a circle of 'bitches' as close friends - it usually doesn't take long for her to be assimilated into a roboto-thinker/clone -- not only in dress, but also in thought process.

Very true. I guess I don't think about the girlie side because I am not 'one of them' ha!

As a self-professed nice-guy (someone second that please) and former soldier, I take exception to the inference that we are degenerates. Sometimes people join the military because of familt tradition, to help people (medics, DART teams, SAR techs), to get a trade or because there aren't many other option open to them. A lot of guys who play sports are genuinely nice guys (especially true of rugby players, I hear) and a lot of frat boys...okay, you can have that one.

I won't even go into your skewed view of women...but I will ask how old you are. I'm guessing 22 or under, based on attitude. You'll grow up eventually.

The problem I think most guys who develop this attitude have is that they want the 'it' girl. Guess what, we all do. That alone doesn't make her a good person and sure as hell doesn't make her useful at relationships, because she is so used to being adored that if you don't fit into the second category this thread started with than she'll move on to someone who will kiss her ass. Just as girls realize that the bad boy is just that - bad, boys come to realize a thing or two as well...IMO

no.

I was laughing at her saying that men would be lying if they said they wanted to go to a strip joint. haha Whatever.

I totally agree.

I would say no because all I get at the rippers is blue balls and an empty wallet.

I don't mind going once in a while, but seriously...if this is your after work hangout you need a life. Besides (and I can't believe I'm going to say this)all the rippers does to a growing boys' mind is create unrealistic ideals of the female body, so you can't date anybody but the 'it' girl, the others don't get you off.

It's like someone who learned about sex from watching porn. Believe it or not, not all women like to be throat-fucked until they cry.

Wierd...

I know a friend that's in the military, and his opinion of the people he's with is the same as Spin Laden's. He can't wait to finish cause they're such retards. You must be lucky.
