why is everyone saying that the sens are done for? they still have 2 games to play at home. they can bounce back to tie the series. the only way i think theyll lose for sure is if they drop one of their home games. then its a done deal.
it seems like you sens fans give up to easily.
I'm batting two for two on predictions... here's another.
Ottawa is going to come out SMOKING in game 3. Giguere will play well, but it wont be enough.
Sens will win 3 - 1.
Home Ice will play a huge factor in this Stanley Cup.

remember all it takes is for ottawa to win both games at home and the series is on! so i wouldnt write them off unless they lose the next game.

highest paid guys (Alfie, Heatley, Spezza, Redden and lol, Gerber) haven't contributed, while Emery, Volchenkov, Phillips and Fisher have thrived under these tough conditions.
But then again, McDonald and Selanne, even Pronger haven't contributed offensively either. When these players start to get on the scoreboard, we could see an even more interesting series. For now, the Sens will have to use the energy from home ice to get some momentum for this series and put the pressure back on Anaheim.
The pressure was on the Sens, because they are Canadian based and heavily favoured. And oh yeah, Elgin Street bars suck and didn't deserve the business they were getting ![]()

Originally posted by Jeff Button You think pressure was on the Sens because they are a Canadian team? How exactly? Are you implying that Canadian teams are expected to win the Stanley Cup? I'm confused. And I know some who picked Ottawa in this series, but how do you figure they were heavily favoured, or even a favourite to win period? Last I checked, Anaheim ranked higher in their conference, earned home ice - and were the more consistant of the two in the regular season.

Originally posted by Spin Laden you haven't been watching TSN, Sportsnet or reading the papers I guess Ottawa has dominated in the playoffs and have been picked by most to win the Cup. As for the regular season, you can pretty much throw that out the window come playoff time (case in point, Atlanta ranked higher that several teams but had a lax regular season sched and took advantage of the outdated NHL seeding system. I can explain to you how that system works if needed). As for the Canadian standpoint, go to any Canadian city and you'll see how much players are reminded that they are playing in Canada, especially come playoff time. Now contrast this to sunny Southern California. Here, it's on storefront windows, the media, city hall, restaurants, taxis, everywhere. These players are reminded constantly. I was at our EDM club here in Ottawa and some e-tard decked in Sens gear head-to-toe was speaker dancing to tech house

Originally posted by Jeff Button Yes, I do watch TSN, Sportsnet, The Score, I listen to The Fan 590, yada yada. This is Canadian media, so there will obviously be a sense of national pride on the line and favortism will exist when one of 'our' teams are in the cup. Sure, hottest team in the playoffs - and they were riding a good streak into the Stanley Cup. BUT..... This Anaheim team has the best combination of defense and goal tending (both regular season, and the playoffs). I can see why some people would pick Ottawa to win it all, based on how they played in the first three rounds - but a 'heavy favourite'? Far from it bro.....

Can anybody SERIOUSLY say they enjoy this hockey? 3-2 and 1-0 scores in the Stanley Cup Final? Holy fuck, it's painful to watch.
All the NHL is now is just one big neutral zone TRAP. The hooking is back stronger than ever, as is the clutching and grabbing. It's terrible, but we stupid Canadians just keep watching it to get our fix.
If Ottawa go on to lose this Final, that will be 4 straight Canadian teams to lose the last round since Montreal won it in 93. vancouver, calgary, edmonton and probaby Ottawa. The Canadian curse?

Originally posted by Spin Laden I won't argue about Anaheim's attributes.. in fact I even picked them for the Finals in my hockey pool BEFORE the playoffs (vs Buffalo) and I've already won the $100 ![]() All I am saying is that a large majority of prognosticators picked Ottawa over Anaheim before this series started, even a brachiating, turd-smelling primate ![]() http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=11007&hubname

...I am three weeks away from a masters in sports business, work for a professional team plus hockey happens to be my favorite sport so I would hope I have more than a simple understanding of things.
