and for the club owners bitch about the costs but its a cost of doing business and being a club. the cost of being a badass club is very high but it is also very rewarding money wise. if you have a relatively good crowd before and you upgrade people notice. and it is normally reflected in the patronage.

it takes a long time to re-coup that kind of investment, though, so part of it is whether you think you'll be open for long enough for it to have an effect.

also, yeah, you have to keep in mind that they don't JUST have to make 250 k--they have to see an INCREASE of 250k in profits due to the upgrade.

why?

Posted by shaw on Jun-02-2007 03:22:

Austin's not bad...but I don't live near Austin. I still make the 3-hour trip fairly frequently, though, 'cuz the stuff there is so much better.

Adapted.

Anyway, I do like to greet strangers at random as Jennypie did. Indeed, that's a problem with great cities - people hardly feel connected enough to even greet someone they might have never seen, but it's not that bad here yet.

'cuz I'm still a young'n & my parents got sick of the snow, once my sister & I were both out of the house (for school, at least)

when i was in iowa, it was the worst place to be ever. Kansas City was 3 hours south, Minneapolis was 3 hours north, chicago was 5-6 hours east, and omaha was 3 hours west.

my debate was between moving to chicago and LA. I got a better job offer first in chicago, so that's where I ended up. I do plan on living out there in the next few years, though. I liked it that much.
