and who said 'Kookaboora' was bud heh? gotcha.

Posted by noikeee on Aug-02-2007 23:06:

bahahahahahahaha

This is blatantly a fad track, reminds me of Roman Flugel - Gets Noch or whatever the fuck was that bleepy track called, it's utterly ridiculous and cheesy, but still thumbs up for making a tech-housey track with an accordion as a main lead.

I think playing this once for fun in a set.. is ok. Playing this regularly, or after it gets overplayed by everyone.. fuck no.

Posted by shaw on Aug-02-2007 23:34:

After hearing it in Samim's RA Podcast, in the proper context, my opinion has changed significantly. If I heard someone play it in a normal set, I'd still hate it, and it has almost no potential for practical use (unless you're playing a set filled with similar, more traditional sounds). Still, I don't hate it anymore.

indeed. the only (small) difference was that Geht's Noch was 100% respected by the 'underground' techno scene, until the track got commercial. tghen the underground started hating it, and commerce took over (as ive been told, that is). see discogs for more info

Heh, funny track.

Posted by r5a on Aug-04-2007 19:22:

I think it's a fun track, something different.

In truly predictable fashion, MoS has picked up this pile of shit for a re-release.

That's right ladies & gentlemen, no matter how good you think it is, it's now objectively shit!

Mass distro, Get Physical and Samim get bank on the licensing, and a shit load of remixes. Also, the hype is continues there, so MOS acted fast.

blech. So in effect, this could horribly trump my Boten Anna/Heater mashup? Damn this late bandwagon hopping.

Hey, it'll only mean more exposure for your mashup

well. submit it to MOS for possible release.

Posted by RJT on Sep-19-2007 15:26:

Definitely awaiting the Steve Angello & Seb Ingrosso Edit - I'm sure it will be awesome.

Oh, and of course the Fedde Le Grande and Ted Promo mashups.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Sep-19-2007 15:37:

I'm hoping somebody will combine it with Xpander.

fart fart fart (discochainsaw action) filter sweep and more fart fart.

If the sampled artists werent some poor artists from Colombia (my country), that probably dont know any better about sampling laws and such, whose label probably does not even exist anymore. I would expect someone trying to chase this sample being cleared or getting some bank as well.

Well, I understand if some of the people simply hate it because if I was from a different culture, perhaps I'd hate it too.

The sounds are trying to resemblance a typical colombian kind of music, called cumbia or vallenato, not quite sure if they're the same. But anyways, that style in particular is well received in certain parts of latin america, hence why some people like it. I hate vallenato/cumbia, but for some reason, this track always puts a smile on my face, it's weird I know.

It surprises me that it got accepted in Europe and other parts of the world... I mean, if I was a dj I'd only play it in latin america and still I'd think about it, because not every latin likes vallenato/cumbia.

p.s.: If there's a colombian out there, to tell us the difference (if any) between vallenato and cumbia...

the song is actually a mix of both. and the difference between vallenato and cumbia. cumbia is faster with a harder bassline and more danceable. vallenato is more old school if you will and is typically slower music where the acordion is a lot more prominent whereas cumbia uses the flute almost as much as vallenato. vallenato's are colombians drinking music if you will b/c a lot of is very depressing

it's official, my 45 year old mother likes it

when I first heard it, among all the talk of it going to be the 'biggest track of the summer' I thought it was total trash. but it has grown on me. Love that accordian. I think I like the CVS mix as a whole better though.

And whether you like Heater or not, Samim's new album is pretty good IMO

Posted by Darrell Austin on Sep-20-2007 03:57:

never in my life had I heard a tune that i absolutely hated the first time I heard it and wound up loving it a month later

until i heard heater, man has this song grown on me

Atrocious.
Bloodcurdling.
Appalling
Horrid.
Awful.
Terrible.
Pitiful.
Horrible.
Abysmal.
Unfathomable.
Ghastly.
Dreadful.
Deplorable.

Need I say more?

hate it

Posted by noikeee on Sep-20-2007 11:38:

Now all the top 40 dj's are playing it over here, i've heard it on a couple nights out.

It rocks though, it's probably the most banging track i can hear in a night of cheesy summer hits. It seems to destroy the floor everywhere, with any kind of crowd. All my friends have been asking "what's the name of that accordion track", lol.

No wonder MOS picked it up.
