i have to honestly say it was better than i expected. i wasn't even planning to go, i won a bet and a girlfriend bought the ticket for me. he played a lot of songs that i never expected to hear now:
...the prophet
...silence
...nyana
...tears from the moon
...street spirit (i thinks that's what it's called)

i had the best time of my life that night. the coming down of the curtain was cool, the fireworks was cool, and the opening was the four hour drive was totally worth it.

was it just me or tiesto run into some trainwrecks? like one or two of them. the only down side of it all was the heat on the main floor.

They had other DJ's and 2 other rooms, but I heard only the main room actually had people. I was pretty pissed off that we had an expensive "mini-TIC" up here..

I instead flew down to LA for the weekend and had a BLAST. On Sat, Roscoe's for lunch, shopping, then dinner at Lawry's and then heading to the TIC @ LA Sports Arena. Awesome.

Wow..You had an orgasmic dinner before an ORGASMIC EVENT. hahaa. I know for a fact from personal experience that lawrys is amazing and personal experience that tiesto was amazing that night also.

I did have to wait in line for 2 hours because the line was ridiculously wrong and then I discovered I had an upstairs ticket after waiting for an hour, and had to go to the VIP entrance for which the line was 1/2 as long as the regular line but when I went inside it was comfortable and there was room to dance so it wasn't too bad.

I had an upstairs ticket so I was dancing upstairs in the aisle. I was dancing next to some random cool people who I ended up talking to and grooving with.

Turns out I was dancing next to a guy who was 1 of 5 people from LA to go see Daft Punk at Red Rocks. (I was one of the other 5 people). So its a small world because the chances of us running into each other and talking at something like Tiesto in Concert are very low.

Tiesto was better than I expected. He played a lot of hard stuff (mostly during the Fire set) and he wasn't as poppy as I expected. He played some great classics. Probably one of my favorite moments was when he played Fonzerelli - Moonlight Part and Lethal Industry.

I don't really like his new stuff including Dance4Life (not the best song) but the visuals during that song were amazing so it balanced out.

He was pretty mellow until his Fire set and then that was really fun. I was around great people with a great vibe and that made it even more fun and possible to do some good old fashioned dancing straight for many hours.

(I am really glad I drank a vitamin energy drink! It doesn't make you hyper like other energy drinks but it gives you energy for the whole night so you don't get tired.)

So much fun! Although catching a cab at 4AM on the corner of Figueroa and MLK was a bit like fighting in the jungle but it all worked out.

I am really glad I went.

I've noticed Tiesto attracts an older crowd. And wow.. you went to Tiesto by yourself? Did you drop?

Posted by Maka08 on Aug-15-2007 09:43:

That night was simply amazing. Besides Tiesto putting on a good show himself. The crowd was amazing. And so were the visuals. Also about the headphones. I saw him toss them. I looked at his myspace later, and found a comment from the gf of the guy who caught em.

Thats her, if anyone wants to see the. Lucky her.

How do you know if you have a floor ticket or not?

Umm to me the crowd was younger this time around.

But it was pretty mixed.

you liked the visuals during dance4life? i'm sorry but if i wanna see a public service announcement telling me to dance against hiv and aids, i'll stay home and watch cnn. in addition to being the worst track ever produced, the dance4life part of the show was also hands down the worst part of the show. completely killed my vibe i was like wtf?

so i hate top ask this because i will be kicking my self in the ass but........

was this concert on the level of Daft Punks???

i couldn't make it, because i drove to Sacramento to run my car at the track for an event...

I remembered once I got there, a little to late...

It was weak. It was more like Tiesto just handed it to whoever? I was waiting to see if Tiesto would throw it or something, but he ended just pretty much handing it down to whoever. I didn't even notice that he already gave the headphones away. By the time I knew it, he was already clapping his hands or whatever. Oh well. The night was still bad a$$ though...

Posted by ohemjeestatus on Aug-15-2007 23:10:

i've never really been a big fan of tiesto, but i went anyway because my close friend is a fanatic.

the night was good overall, only because i generally liked (surprisingly) the selection of songs he played (which do not sound much like his own music, imo). but over the course of the night some of the songs seemed to start to sound the same. but that didn't stop me from dancing!!!

c sharp was a surprise, a good one.

the visuals were sick sick sick. that screen in the back... wow. and when the cloth fell down, and it was ten times brighter, gave me chills!

but all in all, it was a fun night. i wasn't too overly impressed by his mixing, and i am certainly not a follower of his music. but, i was still pleasantly surprised by all the theatrics and the general vibe of the night.

Don't worry, those Stanton headphones are horrible.

Just came back from the states. It was a long trip

So many trouble things happened in my trip. I was so exhausted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still, I enjoyed the concert very much. Thanks to Tiesto showed us the best performance ever!

I have to report this before reporting this concert. I was almost missed the live in L.A.!!! Can't believe this happen to me. We came to L.A. at same day, which the concert was taken place. Arriving at LAX around 2:00PM; then, we stick in the airport due to shutdown the computer of U.S. custom for almost 6 hours!!! We finally could get out from the airport around 7:40PM and arrive the venue around 9:20PM. (The concert was scheduled to begin around 9:00PM, so I felt that I was late!) But, Thanks to giving us the extra time of Jes's one hour performance. We managed to get there in time and could watch the opening of the Tiesto in Concert. The concert begun around 10:15PM.

The opening of the concert was fantastic! (WATCH OUT MY VIDEOS!) I watched the opening of other concert; through You Tube many times; however, the real thing is even much better and more excited. There are so many familiar tunes from his latest album and recent track lists. He also played so many classic tunes like "The Quest"C Sharp "(Original Mix) and Gouryella"Gouryella" (Original Mix). Same people claimed the part of "The sound of Tiesto" is boring, but I really enjoyed the part like " Love Comes Again"and "Adagio for strings" Those are high lights of this show! Tiesto did not forget to drop so many new tunes. The balance between new tunes and familiar tune was perfect to me, so I never get bored entire this concert. The ending of this concert was cool too. He signed his headset and threw into cloud. Then, he started to shake hands with his fans in front of stage. The party was over. Then, I realized there was no other artiest performance like Jes and Blue man group in this concert. Is this thing hurt this concert? The answer is NO! I think this thing even make Tiesto better performance because he could only concentrate him self!

It was great show; I really enjoyed very much. Some people think you are crazy and waste money if you come all away from Japan. I don't think so it was worth to go like such this big event. If I miss this concert (I almost miss this event! for other reason), I must regret entire my life!!!! Tiesto announced the NYE show in L.A. I already start to think to be there (L.A.) again.

Here are pics and videos
Enjoy

Yeaaahhh I feel you. There was a middle eastern independence day event. At first me and the people in my car were like "dude theres alot of indian ppl who like tiesto huh?? haha" the parking was a mess but it was a mess worth going through to see tiesto (:

I didn't have a problem with parking! Hehehehe I have a secret spot, and a secret way to get to the sports Arena and not catching traffic!

If you only saw one show between DP & Tiesto, you would have chosen Daft Punk.

Yah...it took us maybe 5 minutes to park (3 of it was waiting for the left turn light, and 1 of it was waiting to make change for our $20), and we were right by the exit, so we left in no time at all.

We did see that other festival going on...and went right past it.

Where is everyone else parking that is such a clusterf...
