i'm going to killington this sunday (75% sure) and killington on Dec. 15.

Actually looking to stay over Saturday night and staying til Sunday.

Somebody list me good edm tracks to snowboard to. I've been snowboarding to a lot of indie rock and hip-hop. Pretty much the stuff you hear on snowboarding movies.

Hey dickface,

I'd say any of the following are nice to snowboard to:

Better off alone
Castles in the Sky
Anything by DJ Quiksilver and DJ Evolution

so has anyone been going lately? there've been some good conditions in the northeast so far.

i tore my ACL in november playing basketball and will be having surgery on the day after christmas. i will have to live vicariously through everyone else this winter. stories please!

i went this weekend to Killington.

conditions were great. I snowboarded on saturday with temperatures at around 15 degrees I believe. It wasn't cold at all. Clear/gray skies. Snow was slightly packed, no ice spots, really decent.

there was a snowstorm saturday night there but I left sunday morning so I didn't get to ride the fresh snow.

from summit:

i think there was some sort of a huge snowboard trip going on because i have never seen so many asian boarders in one day at a resort. i heard it was some new york thing? no idea.

Wow....that sucks, sorry to hear about the acl..

as for snowboarding, havent gone yet because of finals and work. but starting friday it's going to be snowboarding nearly everyday until NYE: MC twice this weekend, VT on monday, and then Tahoe next wednesday.

why are there so many asian snowboarders, yet so few that are freestyle proficient?

Serious question, im not being a dick. there are always tons of asians snowboarding, but when you get to the park its all white kids.

no clue, i'm not big on freestyle. a few of my friends do park, but they go to stratton. also, kinda hard to tell with goggs and masks hehe. oh and don't forget about brian.

brian doesn't hit up the park. it's actually not that difficult to spot asians on the slope. white people are pretty easy to spot, if they aren't white, they are probably asian.

Just got back from Tahoe. Kirkwood was disappointing. I was expecting very good things, but all i got was crusty snow and 40% open terrain - which consisted of no good terrain. Squaw, all i can say is ROCKS, ROCKS, and more ROCKS!!! Although Squaw had a significant amount of its "good" terrain (1/2 of KT22, Excalibur, and Granite Peak) closed, i still had a really good time there. I almost forgot how good the terrain is at squaw. Definitely my favorite resort for terrain. Anyone who hasn't been there should definitely go. I think the terrain is better than whistler. (i'm still holding out on jackson, i hear that's the best in NA).

Oh yeah, i wish i had pics, but it was either white-out conditions, or it was so windy and cold i wasn't taking my hands out of my gloves.

for fucks sake, there is actually too much snow. called some resorts and they said don't chance the flight because 80 is likely going to be closed thru the passes later tonight. also, they said the wind is probably too strong. MNWS is predicting 150+ mph winds at the ridges!! lifts to the peaks probably won't be open until sunday. maybe a trip out tomorrow night. we'll see.

I'm probably gonna do an okemo run in early feb with some college buddies. Anyone do any local runs here to hunter or other close places? It'd be sick to make a weekend out of this, find some club similar to Love right around a mountain... wake up, drink, snowboard, drink, club, drink.. somewhere, food in there...

Posted by Porky on Jan-06-2008 05:36:

any of you nyta's wanna do a Canada trip to Montreal/Quebec?

i'd go

just shipped my board to toronto and itching to carve some mountain
