I've mostly been lurking around here, but it seems like the word "sketch" is tossed around pretty frequently, its pretty much impossible to go into a thread about a party/event and not see the word mentioned.

But to me, bitching about sketchy people at EDM events is like bitching about overly-drunk people at a kegger -they are a part of it if you like it or not, and if it bothers you that much - avoid them the best you can, and if you cant avoid them : don't go to that kind of party anymore.

(*note: I dont do keggers - I dislike overly drunk people, and as a general - avoid bars/heavy drinking scenes)

And, like a kegger - you'll have quite a few people who can 'hold their shit' and drink within some level of moderation and not become too shit-faced to function, there are people at EDM events who can pop a few pills and remain within some reasonable level of composure - just because someone is on drugs, does not make them sketchy, and just because soemone is sketchy, does not mean they are on drugs (I've ran into some creepy-ass sober people before).

Dont get me wrong, I dont think being too high/drunk is an excuse for bad behavior - but this 'everything is SOOOO sketchy' you make it sound like every club is a cess pool.

Is what I'm bitching about. And yeah, on a side-note, the people in the clubs too, but mostly about the former.

I definitely agree with you jenny, however I am guilty of responding to the afformentioned "sketchy vs hungover" post you linked to. I don't like to talk about that stuff in the open, however, it was asked so I thought I would give my 2 cents, which probably isn't worth even that around here lol.

That being said I also haven't noticed until now, the negative reaction to said sketchy talk and have learned my lesson.

on a side note it's wierd how much I've started to hear the word bleed into more everyday life... my mom called someone sketchy the other day and I was just like :O I know she was just using it synonymously in calling the guy "shady" or something like that but it kinda caught me off guard.
