Thanx for the free show to the local Dj's that did so
Actually now that I think about it I know a whole lot of really good local DJs. I just don't know very many that have any desire to play shows in San Antonio. They've all given up on the city and just work on their own music and throw their own mini parties.

I know this is thr wrong forum for this question but I wan to ask people from San Antonio and also around Texas so this is perfect. Does anyone use vinyl anymore. I just started getting back into the scene and all I see is CDJ's. I'm not dumb I know vinyl is dieing because I ran an eBay store selling vinyl records for about almost 3 years. And of course the buisness went under almost all the vinyl distrubtors went under also and the ones that are left their whole sell price is so high you can't even turn a profit. I was always so busy running the buisness that I never really learned to Dj very well but I just bought some Numark TTX and I figured I would learn to Dj with vinyl and master that before I move onto CD decks. I have about 1,000 records ...I thought about getting something like a PCDJ with the DAT 3 controller but it seems to take the showmen ship out of a performance.
vinyl is expensive, but so are cdjs. cdjs are more fun(hot cues, loops, etc.)i give mad props to the dj's that spin vinyl still. if they do, im sure they play both. and yes they are still out there.
i love the sound of hearing the needle touch the record. dont hear it too often anymore. my first pair of decks are the new cdjs. i always practiced with my roomates records though.

For international DJs it doesn't make any sense to spin vinyl... it's too heavy to lug around the world and if they got lost you're farked. It's not as uncommon to see locals use vinyl but even then it still makes more sense to go digital due to cost and convenience.
