Looks like it will be up to Davidson to keep their dream run (and winning streak) going, to prevent the first-ever all four #1 seeds in the Final Four

i love setups like this
if davidson wins, i'll be psyched

Posted by partyhopper on Mar-30-2008 23:15:

Quite a game

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Mar-30-2008 23:17:

quite a game indeed.
oddly enough, my "blind" bracket is correct. all #1's in the final four.

Posted by MisterOpus1 on Mar-31-2008 00:27:

Good fucking God that game gave me a heart attack!!!

Now I've gotta hear 6 days of my 'Hawks and the revenge factor against Roy.

Should be a damn good game regardless. Rock Chalk, JayHawk, Go KU!!!!!

Great game, so sad to see 4 #1's in the Final Four though. I'm already bored to tears by it.

bored to tears by it??? all of my pools aside and the several hundered dollars that i could possibly win..

i couldnt be more excited to see these match ups as a basketball fan.. even losing my pools is almost worth seeing these upcoming pairings to play... UNC vs KU! how sick is that... but only a Memphis vs UCLA is better...

This is by far teh most exciting final four in my memory and that includes my Gators in the past two years. The last 2 years it just seemed such a far gone conclusion that the title was UF's to lose.

This year... wow any of these 4 have a legit shot.. maybe KU is the tiniest of underdogs... the other 3 are monsters!

Posted by RJT on Mar-31-2008 03:29:

I'd much rather have at least one spoiler in there than have all #1 seeds.

Predictable and bland is not the flavor I prefer for March Madness.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Mar-31-2008 04:16:

how can it be predictable? this is the first time all 4 number 1 seeds made it to the final four.

but yeah this is powerhouse vs powerhouse type of weekend next week. i don't think ucla has an answer for the douglas-rose combination, and will probably squeak out a win. unc and kansas is just going to be one big dogfight.

Meh - if it hasn't been abundantly clear from the posts I've made thus far, I'll just write it in massive letters:

I like underdogs.

My bracket is busted. Stupid Kansas.

Thats the truth. Only reason I wasn't that sad to see davidson go today was cause i used to help ref games back in the day and it just hurts me to see an entire offence based around moving screens. God i was yelling at the tv all fucking game

But oh god, george mason last year was fucking ridiculous. Having grown up around UMass, I've come to hate UConn with a passion, and I love to see them lose. the George mason v. uconn game was on while I was working delivery, and I was following it just by checking back in every like 20 minutes between deliveries. However, when it was down to the wire, i was making a delivery to some dorm and there was a crowd of people in the common room watching iwth like 4 minutes to go (which of course takes like 20 minutes to play out at least) and I ended up just asying fuck my job for a few minutes, sat down and watched. No fucking way i was gonna miss that And damn that was one of the best tips i've ever got. But yeah, upsets are what make the tourney interesting; should be interesting to see four really fucking strong teams duke it out, but its still nice to have a cinderella hang in there as long as possible to keep things interesting.

somewhere tonight Tyler Hansbrough is already in a gym practicing "hustling" in preparation for the Kansas game.

man that guy is a crazy baller, I said UNC would win the title at the beginning of the year

hopefully Ill be able to see the remaining games.

i think this is why you like the underdogs this year..

i probably would have too if i didnt have all this money on these other teams...

but riddle me this? did you root for Davidson over Wisconson when they played?

Posted by RJT on Mar-31-2008 18:14:

Of course not! I have some degree of hometown pride!

i agree, but do any of you all envision him of much of a pro?

for some reason to me I just don't see it.. maybe a 6th man type player

Probably because he needs to put on weight

if Texas had made it would you have considered them the underdog even though they already beat UCLA this year @ UCLA? or was Davidson your last hope of any intrigue in the FF and not Texas, Xavier, or Lville?

hypothetical - Texas, Xavier, Lville, and David all make the FF... It would kinda be like a full FF of underdogs...

Davidson would probably be favored over Lville b/c they would have just been on a tear through the tourny including knocking off GTown, Wisc and KU... where as Lville would have beaten a beatable Tenn team (who struggled against American and Butler) and UNC(big win, i'll give them that)...

So who is the "underdog"? I'd say it'd be Xavier out of that foursome, but as a basketball fan the excitiment of Xavier vs Texas just doesnt have the same ring as Memphis vs UCLA and obviously Lville vs Davidson isn't like UNC vs KU...

When looking at the brackets and picking my teams a few weeks ago I said to myself that there are 5, maybe 6 teams that are the favorites and then a big big drop off. Tennessee was that iffy 6th team. Duke and Gtown were distant 2's. I guess with this thinking that b/c of this anybody else besides the 1 seeds and Texas would have been a big upset.

I'm rambling off thoughts now... i'll stop..
