in response to sonix debate on Cl's popularity and me not being from the west coast. Yeah he packs the fuckign clubs out and yes he is known internationally. Heavily revered in SA esp. Though he doesn't shit tracks out every month doesn't mean he's not popular. He is out there being the dj he is known to be and is why he is popular. He and joof follow the same genre's and that makes them unique being more popular dj's but not just spinning uplfiting trance, but throwing in breaks sometimes, along with psytrance, hard trance and tech trance. Two words for ya Gate Crasher. So I feel you need to quit your argument because it is very apparent that the ones you have presented are weak and repetitive.
I would like to start a new petition to demand Sonix to stop whining like a little girl

I demand it.
umm i come all the way from australia and christopher lawrence has been one of my favs sice about 2001. so yeah he does have his supporters sonix. hes one of the only trance dj's who have remained pretty supportive of the true tough trance sound (although it can get a bit tough for me these days)
maybe u should be questioning why armin and all this cookie cutter stuff is so popular and the dj mag top 10 instead - im sure most of the dj's didnt cheat, but it still is the real worry. :|

Even though I am not a big fan of him anymore, I am surprised it took this long for Armin to get number one. I would have thought he would have gotten number one last year or in 2004. I think he was at his peak in 2004, it was right before he got too predictable IMO. 2005 was when I think he started to slip as far as quality, whether it was productions, DJ mix CDs, live mixes, ASOT etc. Must still be popular I guess...he doesn't come to Detroit anymore.

| Originally posted by darkdoze Hey Sonix GOOD NEWS! Your ranting and raving on TA has brought a new audience to you. I can now confirm that the number of people "DEMANDING" you play in LA on your MySpace has tripled to a whopping "6". Personally I find the sudden increase very suspicious. 9.58am - 2 Demands 3.39pm - 6 Demands Concerns have been raised that you have been CHEATING and DEMANDING YOURSELF to play in LA. I would like to know what actions you took between 9.58am this morning and 3.39pm this afternoon which could justify this suspicious tripling of demand for your services!!!!! ![]() Please understand I will not rest until I discover the TRUTH about this. |
Oh the drama
According to Sonix website, he is seeking "donations" via Mastercard and Visa on his website.
I will pledge $1 for every post he DOES NOT make on TA.
I promise my credit is good.

| Originally posted by sonix i do question dj mag's top10. that's not the argument. sure CL has his fans and supporters, but that's not what's been discussed. nor about which music is better. it's about votes being justified by popularity since people vote who they like, and not justified by ulterior ways such as cheating. it's comparing his followers and impact in the scene with other international djs. some with bigger followings and larger impact than CL but ranked in top50 or so but not in top10. the discussion is about why people were shocked to see CL get to top10 in 2004 for the first time and if it has something to do with him being accused of cheating this year by dj mag. and if the years following 2004 saw CL in top10 again and again because of cheating, or effects of being in top10 in the first place, or because of his music. those are the relevant considerations in this discussion. |
Sonix, Dj mag top rankings means that much too you? I only see it as a tool for club/event promoters picking headliners base on the list.
wtf are prog techno, prog electro, and minimal electro...???

| Originally posted by WardC Hey I want to apologize for the post here, now...ok - this DJMag Statement regarding the whole "spoiler results" posted on TA was indeed fake - DJMag never did make this statement. The quote came across on another forum...and several page scans of "Armin #1 up 1, Tiesto #2 up one" have come out, and these page photos (if real) concur with the spoiler results poll and the 2006 results. Saying that, yeah, they could be true...I am not saying (they [probably are] - but still I want to see the real poll for myself to check it out. There is an 87% chance the fake poll is probably real, and leaked by someone who had access to the print copy of DJMag with the poll results. |
