Wait, what?
You have the Kosmas Epsilon Remix of "Hayling"? Did he send it to you or something? Man, I'd love to get my hands on that banging gem.

Superb effort Rob, well worth the wait!

I downloaded it last night, and listened to it before falling asleep and then again this morning on the way to work. Haven't been able to finish it, but oh man I'm loving it!

Love the intro track, and your mixing on those opening 3 tracks is awesome. Great track selection and programming on the part I've heard, it really shows you put a lot of effort into it. I'll edit when I get a chance to listen to it in one go.

OK, I finally listened to the whole thing and here are my comments:

Loving the intro track, so funky and delicious yet it's kinda techy as well. The second track is also excellent, probably one of my favorite tracks in the set. By the time the third track kicks in, this is definitely one of the best openings to a set I've heard in quite a while (not just TA DJs).

Reading your description (Sounds Like Robots ) and the reviews by other posters, I was expecting a more 'minimal' laid back kind of mix. While it does have that 'laid back' kinda feel, I also feel it's banging and infectious right from the start and would work wonders in a club (more than you would think).

Like other people have stated, "The Blistering Barnacle" is a superb track. I'll definitely have to get this now! You also managed to mix it perfectly into "Chica-Go" which is also mint. I don't really like the next couple of tracks, they kinda make the mix become a bit too repetitive for my taste. But this is quickly fixed with the Nic Fanciulli Mix of Kaliber's "Is This For Love?". The inclusion of Kosmas Epsilon's remix of "Hayling" fits the set perfectly as is begins to wrap up. The last 3 tracks come together for an amazing ending to this great set.

Overall, loved your set. Excellent track selection overall, and great flow. Except for those 2 tracks in the middle, which I find a bit out of place.

I'll be playing this on my iPod very often, thanks for posting this!

Damn - thank you for the lengthy review and such kind words, I'm really glad anytime someone else seems to enjoy something I had so much fun making as much as I do.

The intro was actually something that was finished some time in November or even as far back as October, but then for some reason or another I just never finished it even though I had really, really wanted to. When I came back to it over winter break it all just seemed to come together just how I wanted to.

In any event, thanks again so much for the review and for your patience as far as getting you a link. As always, it's much appreciated.

bump

I downloaded this to try and break out of my "musical comfort zone" a bit as it were. I thoroughly enjoyed it, had a nice laid back atmosphere to it. I'm not at all experienced with this style of music quite yet so I can't give you too much feedback sadly. I can say I thought the mixing was smooth and the whole mix maintained the same type of vibe. Great mix, eager to hear your next one.

Ice - thanks for the listen m8. I hope your first foray into a different style of music was enjoyable for you.

Appreciate the comment and the bump, cheers!

just given this a proper listen, programming is smooth as fuck, it's even made me like takk brett
doppelganger to blistering barnacle is my favourite section, I'd be pretty fucking proud of that
loved what you did with hayling/come to me at the end as well.
Easily the best mix I've heard from you

Thanks heaps Mark - even though that last bit is probably the nicest compliment I could be given, I really, really it when I hear that I was able to take a tune someone previously thought totally shit and irritating and make it at the very least listenable.

Thanks again man - much appreciated

Wow, it took me a long time to find this thread!

This set is incredibly well put together, Rob, and a mint track selection. I've enjoyed all of your mixes but I definitely think you deserve the 'gold star' for this one!

Cheers!

So apparently this has been making the rounds on DI, and I have no idea how it would have gotten to them. Either way, if someone passed it along, much appreciated.
