Anyway, besides the point, There seems to be two types of haters:-

- those that became alienated by his direction
- those that jumped on the anti-bandwagon cos its cool.

For every older fan he loses through incompetent playing, another 200 appear who actually really enjoy the EOL concert format. I can't believe why, but hey.. that is life, and there is plenty of other names to go see instead of spending all day obsessing about hating on one DJ.

Obviously he draws a huge crowd, whereever he plays. I'll be interested to see where it goes in a few years time, if nobody goes to the shows, or if he can maintain the level of hype until retirement.

As most DJs reach 40, they tend to lower their schedule and focus on other goals... hopefully Tiesto will too, and more care and attention can be put into making his sets listenable.

I'm going to see him for the first time in April at AgeHa in Tokyo, and I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing how he compares to the previous 12 years that I've known of him. Yeah, I'm sure his ego his huge, but I wanna see how he is.

I went to see Paul van Dyk last week in Tokyo, and he was freakin' awful. Just didn't seem to care. As long as he had his Macbook, Ableton and his arpegiator / keyboard, that was all that mattered. Yoda wiped the floor with him. Hugely disappointing. I expected him to give half a rats-ass, but there was just nothing.

Tiesto's ambition won't quit until he is the first DJ to perform on the moon.

Because most people don't want to deal with music in itself, disconnected from any "performer." Putting it in terms of performers, rock concert-style, makes it all more comprehensible and attractive.

Anyways, about an hour into his set, I see him reach down and pull something from a bag. It appears to be a large poster and as he starts to unroll it, I realize that is exactly what it is. So I'm thinking ok cool, wonder what this is all about. He un-rolls the poster, at least a 6 foot wide poster, and to my disbelief, it is a giant poster of himself.

As if this wasn't bad enough, I thought ok, well maybe he is gonna throw it into the crowd or something. What does he do?? He simply rolls back up the poster and puts it away, back into his bag.

ROFL!!!!!

you do have a good point, but i still enjoy his stuff. not as much as his older stuff. back in 2000 when i first saw him open for sasha and digweed i didnt know who he was. i thought he was a girl at first.anyways im done talking about tiesto in this thread. its been fun though. lets start one about pvd, or aVB. I got jokes for those fags too.peace

Tiesto's sets basically is based on pyrotechnics and egocentrism, filled with anthems for stupid ears.

Probably the one where I said my favorite track by him is "Sunset on Ibiza" was best. That was about a week into my membership. Noobdom x10000

Also, Tiesto doesnt bother me anymore, just get eeked when people tell me he's the best / talented these days. If you like Britney Spears, thats great, but don't tell me shes an amazing singer or has the best voice out there right now...

2004, perhaps? If so, I was there
