funny thread.

So what would the Guv be without support from asians with mass drug habits? Spectacular club(s) but from a patron standpoint, poorly managed, in my opinion.

Yup yup. I agree! Just stating that this was the first year the public could vote which is probably why CiRCA ranked so high since it is relatively new.

And us 'Trance'Addicts are not the general public. Bringing mainstream Trance DJ brings in the people. Plain and simple. The Guvernment is still a business and the bottom line for any corporation is $$$.

And yeah Ang on an attacking rampage lol, I too wished that Guv would bring in more Trance DJs but yeah it doesn't bring in a big following like House DJs bring in.

Jeff these big dj's cost more to bring them in...Put it this way I can get o'callaghan, sheriden, Tom Colontonio, Siamon patterson and tyas with in budget. There are alot of nights where the guv just has Mark oliver spinning, I am pretty sure they can make an event happen.

I dunno about freedom...I just came back from seeing Eddie and Pvd. Eddie was not impressive at all and he was one of my faves...pvd was good but again was playing alot of house in his sets. so i dunno

Dude have u ever been to any of the other top 10 or 20 clubs on that list? From a management standpoint if you're not happy with over 11 years of packed Saturday night parties and a rep as one of the best clubs in the world, I don't know what could impress you. Asians are a big part of Toronto, I don't get your Asian comment.

what exactly do you know about the management team at Ink? probably nothing really...only what you assume. they are extremely organized and hard working and have done an amazing job at keeping the club at the top of toronto's list (even north america) for many years now.

Seriously, yea it's 'trance'addict but from Day 1 there's been Trance, Techno, and (occasionally) House for download and the Music Discussion area has always been open to that. It seems to be a Toronto/Montreal centric thing (genre whoring) -- are you just looking for something to bitch about?

I know people are either n00bs or well-on-their-way-to-being-jaded old schoolers when they advertise their extreme genre elitism - get a grip, there was once a time where multiple genres co-existed at parties -- on a regular basis too - and everyone had a blast.

It's easy to say you want to bring in DJ _______ but when only the die-hards know/care who that is then it doesn't make much sense to justify that expense. Sometimes the fan boys and management of a DJ prop them up in order to be booked - making them out to be more important than they are -- sometimes you gotta burst that bubble and say no thanks.
