U might not know who I am, but I knew who Andy was, as did my friends. When I found out about the first raid the first thing my friends told me was, "Remember Andy?" so I know what the fuck I'm talking about It's unfortunate but what's happening because of it is pissing me the fuck off. The people who lost credibility are the cops, and yes, this kids mother and sister, who are lying about the entire situation. They're twisting the details, leaving out important information, and plain-old making shit up to push their agenda forward. This is what frustrates me the most. I know for a fact that the cops are going to keep coming back over and over again until zone closes its doors. And then they're gonna go through every other club in the city with a reputation, INCLUDING GUV, until the scene is nothing like it was. Everything that the true clubbers/ravers/scenesters (NOT INTERNET FORUM FANATICS) know and love about the Toronto scene is being disrupted. So back to my point, fuck all the people on here who speculate on shit they don't even know. Go fucking talk about Britney Spears! |

| Originally posted by urban_legend I went in with such low expectations in Montreal when I saw Sasha and Diggers there in Dec and wow was I blown away. Party of the year last year |
last time i was at cz the sound/audio tech guy was doing lines of k off the tables at the silver dollar....sure is doing his job!!!!
Personally, I think the increased attention on the scene is worthwhile. Drugs were being used far too openly, people assuming no harm, no foul and just using whenever and wherever they pleased. Many people count on the fact that they can purchase at the club and do so regularly, which encourages clubs to have dealers or people to carry more than they would otherwise. I know of people who regularly bought in bulk and often carried enough to supply everyone, and I hope that changes now. The drugs are never going to go away, but hopefully things can be a little more discreet....and the zone certainly does not fit the definition of discretion, IMO.

The DJ's and them being considered "staff" have been brought up numerous times in this thread, go back and fucking read through it if you think I'm losing my mind in my assumption. Please continue to enlighten us with your mighty insight.. (That's my way of saying that you have no fucking clue what you're talking about) |

| Originally posted by teufel-man Well then why don't you enlighten me with your great knowlege? If this is really a huge blow to the DJs by losing their CZ set then back it up with facts. |
can we please NOT call any names please? especially if you don't know facts.
cause now if we put PurpleHaze's and Jay's comments together, we get:
Tim, the sound tech from the zone, who also works at the guv, does lines of K inside the Silver Dollar.
Tim doesn't do K and he doesn't really work at the zone anymore (correct me if Im wrong Jon).

| Originally posted by jon jon Do I know most of the CZ residents hourly rates at CZ? Yes. Is CZ closing down going to be a blow to their income? Of course it is you fucking twat. The majority of CZ Sunday residents DO NOT have day jobs. I know it's a concept that might blow your mind, but yes, they DJ for a living. They actually depend on that regular Sunday gig to support their income. |

| Originally posted by teufel-man my point was that the DJs, especially the ones who DJ full time have multiple 'jobs' (ie. sets @ different clubs) |

| Originally posted by teufel-man my point was that the DJs, especially the ones who DJ full time have multiple 'jobs' (ie. sets @ different clubs) so losing one of them is not as big of a deal as closing the zone would be to the other CZ 'employees' who probably work there for 24 hours a week. relax. |

| Originally posted by gummybear dude, how old are you and how long have you been in the "scene" for?? the scene has gone through several evolutions and changes...ask the people that partied in the eighties, early nineties...mid nineties..get my drift...? Comfort zone does is not representative of the scene..it is an after hours that has had a much longer run than most..get over it...if it closes down..trust me dude..the scene will not die..there will be another place to replace it....the party will go on.... there is only one place that has never been or never will be replaced in this city..and that is the Industry nightclub..you want to talk about a place that represented this SCENE of ours..well there it is....that was a place to be proud of.. i don't consider myself an internet forum fanatic..i can tell you about some parties that you can only wish you attended...no disrespect but you sound very ignorant..and that is the opposite of what you obvioiusly are trying to achieve with your lecture about the future of "the scene" |
can we please remove this thread off the face of the earth? we have had enough conversation about the zone being busted in the past month, it's time to move on already. Too many clueless "opinionated" degenerates trying to argue about things they don't know anything about. Honestly this place has turned into a retard playground lately especially with some newer members actively participating and expressing their worthless opinions.
I also love the hypocrisy in this thread by many posters mentioning how the cz is a drug heaven and should have been closed long ago yet they do drugs themselves on a regular basis, what a fucking joke.

| Originally posted by teufel-man Yeah some DJs, like yourself, would lose their 2-hour set once a week but its not like they are highly dependant on that income. Unless CZ pays $500 for a 2 hour set, which I doubt is the case. |
