| progressive has gone on to become a byword for boring, convoluted house music. And yes, even if you put aside Sasha, Digweed and Lawlers mind numbing take on the genre later in the decade, its still easy to knock the first wave of progressive house now as it quickly became a parody of itself music for long haired blokes on drugs made by long haired blokes on drugs. BUT its also easy to forget there was actually some very exciting music being made at the beginning. |
Let's have a moment of silence for the dearly departed

Cowboy Records
Guerilla
Hard Hands
Jackpot
Skinnymalinky Records
Just like Leftfield's track is entitled, they're not forgotten.
Crescendo - Are You Out There is a bizarre track. It features a violin synth and then it goes into a crazy siren bridge. it may be a classic but that tracks leaves me dumbfounded.

here's another classic guys. pretty well known since Digweed featured it on his MMII mix, but great. Darren Emerson made so many classic remixes in the early days! Happy to say I have this 12" hehe....
