indeed brethren. I respect the prog that came after 1995 but the ones from 1990-1995 ('progressive house' was coined in 1992) are impeccable.

glad you guys like that track so much.

here is another one real quick. classic track that everyone knows, but not everyone may know this remix. it's easily the best of the bunch.

i can't believe this track is from 1991....fucking 22 years old

enjoy

I found this via google. what an interesting read.

quote:
progressive has gone on to become a byword for boring, convoluted house music. And yes, even if you put aside Sasha, Digweed and Lawlers mind numbing take on the genre later in the decade, its still easy to knock the first wave of progressive house now as it quickly became a parody of itself music for long haired blokes on drugs made by long haired blokes on drugs. BUT its also easy to forget there was actually some very exciting music being made at the beginning.

Let's have a moment of silence for the dearly departed

Cowboy Records
Guerilla
Hard Hands
Jackpot
Skinnymalinky Records

Just like Leftfield's track is entitled, they're not forgotten.

Crescendo - Are You Out There is a bizarre track. It features a violin synth and then it goes into a crazy siren bridge. it may be a classic but that tracks leaves me dumbfounded.

I realized how many classic threads you were apart of on this site. sasha's tracklists are amazing

Posted by Floorfiller on Dec-09-2012 16:46:

here's another classic guys. pretty well known since Digweed featured it on his MMII mix, but great. Darren Emerson made so many classic remixes in the early days! Happy to say I have this 12" hehe....

ahhh the sasha thread lol. honestly can't take too much credit for that. a lot of that information is collected from other places.

i will say that thread was before youtube got really popular lol. oh man if i had that and a few of the other better resources around back then they would've been a lot closer to complete hehe

i wish i had a job where i could sit and play on the internet all day like then hahaha....
