And yes, Germany was utterly useless for most of the game. I wasn't even that pumped when the final whistle blew because of how weak Germany had been in trying to find an equalizer. A good win for Spain, and hopefully the first of 3 championships in the next 4 years.

barcelona is on fire!!! I'm really surprised but in comparing with the rest of Spain, you are right. I'm watching TV and in Madrid, Valencia or Sevilla, bufff, i don't have words. Really nice to enjoy!

Barring '90 and '96, that's a lot of 'almosts'.

I'm expecting the psychological effects of winning a title (and winning a quarter-final for that matter) will open the floodgates for Spain.

judging by the looks on the german players' faces when the final whistle went i think it's pretty safe to say that past successes and 2nd/3rd places meant absolutely jack shit to them. what matters was that this team lost, and they lost because they plain weren't good enough.
