Yes, but because of the astronomical levels of CO2 in the atmosphere it has been absorbing far more than usual, which is changing the PH of the oceans and having disastrous effects.

Heres an abstract of the article, couldn't find the full piece.

Here is a PDF of the whole article

Okay... but the rising temperature alone is a big enough problem in itself. Also, as the oceans get warmer, theyre going to start absorbing less co2. The solubility of co2 in water decreases as temperature increases. There's a lot of assumptions made in that statement, which I understand, but all in all my point is that the oceans are not well understood. At least not as well as the atmosphere. We honestly dont know how the marine system is going to respond to this kind of carbon concentration.

yeah leave me alone , give it 5 years ago and we would be arguing over how a meteorite would kill us all

ill see you at the next doomsday fad

Read the article, it is quite good. And we don't want the oceans getting warmer or absorbing more CO2.

The best part is I never once in this debate argued any kind of doomsday fad. I'm not even concerned about global warming. I'm concerned about protecting the environment, conservation, reducing waste and reducing pollution.

well why didnt you say so ! i am too , i recycle , i have a low emission car ,but i dislike global warming as a excuse for money dealing and an excuse to charge me more fuckin money for nothing

Then you would understand that action in favor of climate change is good for everything I listed.

most people have no idea what conservation is

it's worse in architecture. rather than come up with a sustainable development strategy or the creative reuse of an existing building, institutions like universities and corporations go to ridiculous lengths to build absurd 'green buildings' which are the architectural equivalent of hollywood sfx movies, except instead of trying to hit box office numbers, they try to rack of LEED points so they can put a little trophy on their secretaries' desks and color their annual report forest green.

they're concerned about the emissions of their building but don't even think about all the human and natural energy wasted in the construction of the building, the manufacture and collection of materials, etc

It depends on how many people will be chilling in the jacuzzi... is this sake you speak of yellow and with a citric after taste?

Posted by adi_hanson on Jul-17-2008 00:09:

cleaning up your act and being more aware of your actions is much different than saying going to the supermarket in your car will kill 100 penguins and you better pay us money to stop it

No, I'm not getting in there! I'm doing it for the kids in Africa, they always look so sad and bored

sounds like global warmists are simply scientologists with a different cause.

You do realized that the "global cooling" idea of the 70s was only ever put foward by one person in one book, which was then completely debunked, right?

I didnt go in that deep , but it was followed by global dimming aswell

p.s i had a lot to drink last night and re-read this thread

i but i still stand saying the whole thing is wrong and the real problems like , conservation ,running low on fuel etc etc are being overshadowed by a force fed story of global warming, which i noticed more people call it climate change now as many places are not warming at all, certainly where im standing its not!
