Habs got owneeed

Posted by Zinger on Sep-23-2008 07:31:

its the only time Boston will ever own the habs this season...

wait til Alexei undresses Chara & Company and Komisarek eats Lucic's face...I can just picture a Kostitsyn orchestrated Boston demolition on OCT 15.

I have never disliked a hockey team more than the bruins...even worse than the leafs...i feel bad for the leafs..

But Patrice Bergeron is an awesome player...mad respect to him for coming back....

Twenty-five Canadiens games on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada this season.

More than any other Canadian team.

This is not a typo. Read on below:

CBC's news release:

CBCS HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA ANNOUNCES ADDITION OF
TEN MONTREAL CANADIENS GAMES TO 2008-09 BROADCAST SCHEDULE

Habs to be featured 25 times during season more than any other Canadian NHL team

CBCS HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA continues to provide Canadians with
unparalleled coverage of their beloved game, today announcing the
addition of 18 games to the broadcast schedule bringing the grand
total to 87 games for the 2008-09 regular season broadcast package.

The newest games on the broadcast schedule include ten Montreal
Canadiens match-ups and eight Ottawa Senators games, complimenting an
already comprehensive lineup that includes 25 all-Canadian matchups,
five tripleheaders, 10 afternoon games, the traditional Saturday night
doubleheaders, the 2008 Hall of Fame Game, Original Six Saturday, the
2009 NHL Winter Classic, the ninth annual CBCS HOCKEY DAY IN CANADA,
and the 57th NHL All-Star Game in Montreal.

The addition of these games to an already strong broadcast schedule
allows us to cater to a wider spectrum of hockey fans, said Scott
Moore, executive director, CBC Sports. Montreal and Ottawa are vibrant
hockey markets and this reinforces our commitment to bringing viewers
the most comprehensive coverage of Canadian NHL teams available.

The Montreal Canadiens will be featured a total of 25 times throughout
the season on CBCS HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA, kicking off on Saturday,
Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. ET as the Habs square off against the Maple Leafs in
Toronto.

Montreals 25-game broadcast package on CBC will help
Canadiens fans celebrate the franchises 100th anniversary season,
which begins on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. ET as Montreal hosts the New
York Rangers, marking the beginning of their anniversary celebrations.

December continues to be a big month for the Canadiens, appearing five
more times on CBCS HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA including versus Tampa Bay
on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. ET and versus Philadelphia on Thursday,
Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. ET.

the RDS coverage is far superior, but i think this is still cool. (if they do not use that idiot has been dinosaur bob cole to do the play by play that is.)

your rankings do not work because 2 teams from the same division are 2 and 3. the top 3 are division champ seeds regardless of points.

in both conferences.

Posted by Spin Laden on Sep-25-2008 00:33:

Geez, my brain is still set on NFL,.. explains how the Caps finished so high last year. Well, I'll repost later and keep Toronto right where they are

Posted by Spin Laden on Sep-25-2008 00:36:

speaking of division seedings, the NHL is re-considering giving those division winners automatic seedings, they may turn to a points-related system instead.

Posted by malek on Sep-25-2008 00:37:

Here's the vintage jerseys that the team will be wearing at certain games this year.

Posted by elFreak on Sep-25-2008 01:08:

any pics of the rest of them?

@spin

it would be awesome if they went to a pure points system.

Posted by Bertuzz on Sep-25-2008 01:26:

I think the following teams may have break-through years this season: Tampa Bay, Boston, Chicago, Phoenix.

For TB with Stamkos, Meszaros, Roberts, Ryan Malone, they've definitely improved. In Chicago, with Kane and Towes, along with Huet and Campbell on D, I think they'll be a lot better. With PHX, the young blood and minor tweaks they've done in the off-season SHOULD pay off for them; plus they actually have a goalie in Bryzgalov. Boston is a dark-horse; Bergeron back, Fernandez back, Ryder maybe playing well again?

I think the following teams will drop-off: Ottawa, Rangers, Nashville, Vancouver

Ottawa lost a lot of guys, though their top 3 are still intact. Rangers are still have some overpriced talent (gomez, drury, redden) and have lost Jagr. Vancouver, without Luongo, they're nothing + better hope the Sedins can carry the load with Naslund/Morrison gone.

ALL speculation at this point!!

Sorry but its kinda UGLY

Posted by elFreak on Sep-25-2008 01:32:

ummm you realize that the point is not to use nice jerseys, but ones that involve the team's history right?

you find me something from 1908 that you would wear today.

nice picks bertuzz.

i think chicago too, but it is too early for me to tell if they are real yet so i did not take the chance. Colorado will suck

ps lol at st louis making the playoffs spin

ugly or not, it's tradition and you've gotta respect that.

WSH is also super sketchy. They made the playoffs by the skin of their teeth last year, with Huet standing on his head and Ovech killing it. This year??? THEODORE. Hopefully, letting Huet leave won't bite them in the ass!!

Posted by elFreak on Sep-25-2008 01:39:

chicago does not have the best player in the nhl...and if semin stays healthy it will be easy for them to win a weak division.

theodore got his groove back last year...lets see if he can keep it.
