never really bothered with forums but only after working out recently that there's some good stuff goin on in these things i thought i'd join up.

anyways, enough of that...

this lineup looks NUTS!!!!!! but whats with the 12pm doors opening? hoping its gona go all night yeah? cant wait tho! gona be the best party australia's ever seen, shitten all over sensation!!

It's actually considered a day event... even though it runs till around 11pm.
The Dutch company behind it all have put their 'set build' on hold to work on the Aussie one for us all. Thank god Dutch dig trance so much that's all I can say.

"The Thunderdome, built for NASCAR racing but has been mostly unused for the past decade is probably best known for hosting a Guns N� Roses concert in 1993, which attracted a record crowd of 66,000 to the venue. The press release from promoters ID&T notes that the festival will go without sound restrictions, however will finish at 11pm. ID&T will also provide free shuttle buses from nearby Watergardens train station to the Thunderdome, due to the lack of public transport in the area."

They are also extremely excited to be able to work with so much darkness here compared to the late night fall that occurs when they run Trance Energy style festivals over in Dutch land. They have a few more hours here to play with lasers and lights so guys... be ready for some fuckin chaos!

yeah i do realise what i said lol. i was a little disappointed after sensation. yeah the venue, the lighting show and stuff was great, but honestly, the atmosphere was pretty dead. the tunes were fairly shit and yeah, bit of a let down. im still under the impression sensation white was a TRANCE party, not a party for the housey shit they played.

Lasers are lasers bro. Bigger the better. Green sometimes, blue other times. You may come across what people call a 'dance party' where you find beams of light radiating from behind the DJ in various colours. Truly a magnificent sight. The term laser is an acronym for light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation for those of you who didn't know (obviously ditzy - sorry stipsy didn't). Also stipsy - you'll find it even better if you stick your head right into the unit from where the laser is radiating from. It helps replenish the chemicals in your skin. Go ahead and try it.

that was fairly amusing to read, something tells me stipsy may have got a bit of chuckle out of it as well.

But whats this about them having more hours to set up production for night, TE in holland is at night in a big fuck off tin shed

WOW! its been AAAAGES since ive been on tranceaddict! had to even reset my password...

just chekcing out the hype, and interest from the wider community! as i can see, there's already my fellow melbournians in here, doin a bit of self promo - won't go down that end yet, but all i can say is - FUCKING CAN'T WAIT!

i only read the last 1 or 2 pages - but yeah, it was mysteryland that only is given a couple of hours to play around with lasers, compared to melbourne's trance energy, which will have 5 from (6.02pm till 11.00pm LOL)...

i dont know what all the fuss is - lasers are fucking cool, but nothing without an awesome stage show/lighting to go with it, and of course, a pumping crowd!

either way - melbourne's show set to be the best one out of all me thinks!

and its only 5 min drive from my house!

for all the backpackers planning on making the hyke down, u can come stay at my place lol...

well here's a topic of discussion:

thoughts on the venue - good or bad??

Im actually excited because for Melbourne, its something fresh... sick of myer music bowl, and Showgrounds is going to become deja vu at the rate festivals are happening/shifting there now...

ID&T are doing well in providing us with free buses to Calder from the watergardens station, and apparantely there's custom stages being built in holland and shipped over, not to mention the custom built VIP stage, overlooking the main arena...

yes, im VERY excited about the new venue, and i CANT FUCKING WAIT!!

Yeah I think everyone is actually over on ITM, lol.

I personally think the new venue is great. As you said, there's too many things happening at the music bowl. It's a good venue but time and time again it gets a little boring. Think it's a great new spot to test out and the thunderdome will hopefully suit the trance theme perfectly.

Just hope there's enough transport for EVERYONE that wants it after the show. Otherwise things could get messy. But ID&T sound like they know what they're doing!
