Pizza on the East Coast generally sucks (with the exception of Brooklyn). I miss the Midwest.

nah, not going back home. i am broke and i don't get paid until Friday and then i'll be in Chicago for the weekend... and i'd rather eat McDonalds with DJ Row than eat Chicago-style pizza.

Ah, staying down there the whole weekend again?

Enjoy yourself, wish I could be there.

Edit: And I think I just realized you meant you'd consider coming to Madison, not New York!

Though I'm sure NY would be a great escape for you as well!

Well you know you've always got more than a handful of places to go up here for Thanksgiving.

Also, depending on when/how/if/etc. this whole debacle of work begins to pan out, I was going to try and make it back to MKE soon, but if you're out for the whole weekend I'll probably just hold off until next week.

let me know. i don't really have any plans for the weekend after this one. would be nice to catch up -- maybe grab some drinks at AB.

(and bring Django!!)

I should have a much better idea of where things with work are going after today and tomorrow - right now it's literally waiting for fucking corporate to get their shit together, but hey, at least as of Monday I am technically "on the clock."

Basically now I'm waiting to find out whether or not I'll actually be staying in Appleton or moving to Buffalo Grove, IL or San Jose, CA - so yeah, even more stuff still up in the air for me that is a touch stressful, but I should know this week at which point I'll know when I am going to actually have money again.

If anything, I'm just really, really frustrated about missing Burridge this weekend.

Well maybe it's just DC and Philly then... because I could really go for a pizza from a place I used to go all the time in MN.

I'm most pissed about just missing the whole weekend and generally not seeing anyone from that realm in months.

I was about to ask what you were going to on Saturday, knowing it's Ferry multiplies my jealousy exponentially if only because - well, because of the last times we saw Ferry.

Unfortunately it's really not up to me right now. The four major sites that were expanded the first half of this year were San Jose, Chicago, Appleton, and Kuala Lumpur - and much as I'd like to travel, I'm not really interested in leaving everything behind to take on that project right now (it's a minimum of 36 months). I don't know that I could take it mentally right now.

No VA? Laaaaaaaaaame.

Closest I could get is Raleigh, NC, and I'm not particularly interested in moving to the South (unless it was Atlanta).

I'd probably prefer Chicago, but there's not really any indication where I'm headed right now - which is undoubtedly one of the more frustrating aspects of life right now.

Anyways, so yeah - pizza. Napoli's is fucking great.

Rob, I am sure you will do fine. You have the capacity to do it. While it is one hell of a change from what you have been doing for the past few years, it is one of those changes that is more overwhelming at first than it really is.

And I want a damn good pizza now. Damn all you!!!!!

God damn the both of you.

Actually, I'm not really sure what the hell I'm on about since I generally prefer thin crust myself...

But oh goddddddddd............

Uno's also has a separate establishment called Duo's, which is even better...

Posted by RJT on Oct-08-2008 18:46:

I really, really despise Uno. We went to the original in Chicago about 10-15 years ago, waited about two hours for a pie, and when it arrived it was genuinely the most awful thing I had ever tasted.

I'd give Chicago Style a try again in the city, but that experience just left the worst taste in my mouth (ba-dun-tiss!).

Anything with massive amounts of veggies on it, kthx.

Posted by UWM on Oct-08-2008 18:52:

D'Agostino's is the win.

Man I really shouldn't be including Uno's in that list; they really aren't quality. Try Duo's, its owned by Uno's but is a more upper-scale place where one or two slices of pizza will fill you up more than enough.

And Giordano's is spreading. I'm doing delivery at one for the time being until I find myself a real job, and the boss/manager is really high up in the chain. He's saying they are going to open up business up in Madison and out in NYC as soon as possible.
