Hey, thanks for the replies. So looks like it's not worth it then. $400 is kinda steep for Ultra alone, especially when there are so many other events happening during WMC.

Posted by Cubsnation1 on Nov-27-2008 00:33:

So any word if Ultra moved ?

long story short, dont get VIP.

sorry for the long rant, just my .02

i had vip at ultra 5 (thankfully it was free) and it was just as much of a joke. got in quick no problem. went into the special vip area and you had to buy a table to even sit down in there. a grand right there. there was nothing and i mean nothing free. and well yea, that was about it.

Posted by EDM-head on Nov-28-2008 02:11:

Instead of spending the money on VIP it's always better to spend that money on the other events going on that week and see your fav djs

Posted by Cubsnation1 on Nov-29-2008 03:39:

I bought vip for Ultra 07 the worst choice I
ever made !

Posted by Iron Fist on Nov-30-2008 07:36:

Hotels and organizers still charging high prices, like nothing happened.
Exchange rate sucks too. I could've saved close to $800, if i went this year.
That brings up a question: Does anyone think WMC attendance will be lower this year?

True statement

However, thankfully there are always credit cards and 0% no fee balance transfers. I probably shouldn't go to WMC, however I am taking the bar exam in February and need to blow off some steam in March. I'm confident I'll pay it back...eventually...

Posted by epdarks on Dec-01-2008 05:19:

Yes I'm guessing WMC attendance will be very low this year... DJ's included. But I still think we'll still see a lot of non-Americans flying in because the dollar is still fairly cheap. A few club owners who use WMC to break even are in for a world of hurt this year. Then again, everyone is hurting this year.

Just my theory anyway.

hi people,

Posted by thecreator on Dec-10-2008 07:38:

Suite party oi oi oi

Thank you all for the words of wisdom on the vip tickets.I'm defiantly going regular, and I'll save the money and spend it on party favors!!! Woo

I sit and ask myself the same questions some of you ask yourself about finances.

I am not broke by any means, but is it worth it to you know...spend this sort of money on a trip. I look at some of the costs and they astonish me. To pay $100 to see Tiesto for example.

I am not going to just be "nickle and dimed" the entire time, but clubs will have outlandish fees, and instead of nickle and dimes its 50 dollars here, $100 there, and I am not even drinking yet.

Then I think well lets say I take mushrooms or acid at WMC...everyday. How much would I enjoy standing in a venue like this
http://www.wayfaring.info/wp-conten...-conference.jpg

or this

http://www.mightyleg.com/crowd.JPG

I want to get a "Sensation" like experience with total mind blowing visuals.

And it looks like I have to visit some clubs down there to get that, and the costs...well they scare off a potential WMC patron or two.

I look at how cheap it is to just go to Chicago (3 hour drive) and see top notch talent for well...sort of cheap. But you do get lots of quality and quantity here at WMC.

But am I going to be paying more then $30 to see big acts? Armin, Deadmau5, Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, and the alike?

Standing in a field just doesn't work for me and dance music, besides the fact I get maybe 3 feet of personal space to dance like a retard.

Posted by raven848 on Dec-13-2008 01:10:

average price of a good party is $25. Last year Deadmau5 was $10... lots of free parties as well.

if you need to see big acts yea you're going to pay more than $30. something like armin or pvd in a club is gonna run at least $60 to over $100. but by no means are all of the good parties expensive. some of the best WMC parties to me have been the cheap ones that aren't hyped but just have a totally chill atmosphere with some DJ you wouldn't ordinarily see. I agree with that, I wouldn't bother with ultra at all that's not my idea of fun.

Armada party tickets have actually started at about 30-35 the past 2 years...cheaper before that

Posted by rudeflame on Dec-16-2008 03:51:

dont forget $20 armin at pawnshop tix

Posted by Ronald Ravin' on Dec-16-2008 03:54:

That's true, if you watch like a hawk and buy one of the first tickets, you can potentially get better deals. I am only speaking for the procrastinators who don't even know if they're going to WMC until March and are still buying tickets the night before they fly out :P
