he's among the top in the league for favouritism from refs. He gets foul calls on completely uncontested layups, lol...so ridiculous.

(stuff like that ruins the game, IMHO).

That and all the "phantom" fouls given to him. All you need to do is guard Dwayne Wade and more than likely you'll be called for a foul.

lulz. Toronto just won't get over Vince Carter eh

Posted by Yohan on Nov-22-2008 03:03:

I wonder if jon jon was watching this game and if he was, I wonder how many hairs he lost from pulling on them

seriously. Mitchell cannot get his players to play full 48 mins. Raps suffer from mental collapse way too many times.

18-point lead at one point. Pitiful.

Edit: And leave it to Vince to deliver the final blow, TWICE!

Fu*king hell! They ended up losing? Geeze...

Posted by Sly_Guy on Nov-22-2008 05:59:

Our starters are playing too many minutes.

Our wings still suck. Why the hell did Jamario switch on that screen? That's the whole reason why we put him on Vince.

Hopefully Jermaine's injury isn't as ugly as it looked, we can't afford to lose anybody.

If O'Neal goes down for a long term, though he looked okay going off the court, Toronto is going to be in a lot of trouble.

Offensive ok, still some terrible shot selection, but defensively bleh. Carter just blew by the defence quite a few times. That last Carter bucket that won the game for the Nets. Pathetic.

Bargnani had a good game, but if you cannot drain the clutch buckets, you're useless in the NBA

last's night game was heart breaking.

Vince Carter should die.

right now, defensively we're in a lot of trouble because we can't guard the perimeter regardless of o'neal. But we will be in a lot of trouble because we won't be able to compete on the glass again, and worse overall shooting [perimeter and inside].

Don't worry about bargs just yet. He's finally starting to show me something I like to see, which is some consistency on both ends of the floor. If he can keep that up, his confidence will begin to climb, and he'll be able to take clutch shots without thinking about them.

except the inbounds 5sec violation in the last minute of regulation that forced overtime

with time he'll make less of these stupid mistakes

I feel bad for Bosh

J.O. will likely be a no-go for the Raptors Sunday afternoon against the Boston Celtics. But the injury suffered by centre Jermaine O'Neal on Friday night to his surgically repaired left knee will probably will not keep him out more than a few days. O'Neal, who was just hitting a comfort zone with his new team, has a strain, but no structural damage according to preliminary reports, which were expected to be verified when doctors and a radiologist compared notes later on Saturday. O'Neal came down awkwardly on the knee during the fourth quarter of the 129-127 overtime loss to the New Jersey Nets. At present, he's listed as day-to-day. Coach Sam Mitchell wouldn't go public with his lineup for defending NBA champion Boston minus O'Neal, but it's likely Andrea Bargnani shifts to O'Neal's spot and the team activates small forward Jamario Moon. The seven-foot Bargnani was doing a good job the past few games at Moon's position, providing added size to an already big team with O'Neal and Chris Bosh, but leaving Bargnani at the No, 3 spot means Mitchell would be committing his last big man off the bench, Kris Humphries. New Jersey's Sean Williams was charged with a flagrant foul for tugging at O'Neal's sweater as he was airborne.

Thank god....

And another interesting read:
quote:
On the situation of Basketball in Russia and Carlos Delfino
Our contact in Russia informed us about some major development in Russia. According to him the global financial crisis has a direct effect on the Russian basketball now. If you really think it about it - it just makes sense and critics of the high paying Russian investors are finally proven right.

He also explains us why Russia is having problems:

Much depends on the Dollar value. If the oil price keeps dropping - the Ruble (Russian currency) will fall. It is expected that the Ruble will fall. From here - everything will get worse. Many Russian basketball contracts are in dollars, and the sponsoring of the clubs and salaries is in rubles. - meaning the clubs will have to pay more money to their players.

If you take a look at the sponsors and their stocks it is obvious what club will or already have problems.

CSKA Moscow, Dinamo, Khimki, Triumph and CSK VVS dont pay their salaries right now. CSKA and Dynamo just go long delays. In Khimkis and Triumph it is much worse. The womens team of CSKA is on the edge of bankruptcy. Its main sponsor sold his business and the new owner does not want to have any relationship with the club.

But that does not mean that CSKA will have any problems with the players. There is a delay of the payments more than a month. Vatutin, CSKAs CEO, said that there are difficulties, but the main sponsor of the team Norilsk Nickel assured that they would continue to fully meet its financial obligations. It is not clear why CSKA has problems, because Norilsk Nickel stocks did not fall significantly for the year.

There are more problems with Khimki and Triumph. Yesterday, Carlos Delfino refused to go to play in the third quarter. Head coach Kemzura said that he doesnt want to see a player not listening to his instructions.

I am sure Carlos does not want to see his team not paying him either.

Sign him up! Bring him back! He's better than what we got now, and he'd be a better backup PG with his ballhandling skills than ukic or Soloman

Posted by mikester69 on Nov-22-2008 23:34:

Damn Vince, he still owns us all

If he had missed that shot, we would have been raving about career highs for Bosh and Bargnani and how amazing we played as a team...BUT he hits it and here we are talking about him again.

Posted by Yohan on Nov-24-2008 04:19:

ugh. that loss to Nets really shook up the confidence. played with absolute lack of motivation today.

getting pwned in the paint like that...

Posted by Pett on Nov-24-2008 04:27:

fucking fire mitchell already can't stand him

Posted by Yohan on Nov-27-2008 02:27:

Yay win.

Raps will never be over .500 team when they don't get their heads in the game 100% of the time. Way too many defensive lapses.

I'm starting to jump on fire Mitchell wagon too. It's been years, and the Raps still can't play in the paint.

Posted by Orko on Nov-27-2008 23:34:

Wow, Bosh scored 39 and 42 the other day? Wow.

Great to have somebody like him on the team. Hard working, polite, humble. We need more NBA stars like him.

Posted by slingshot on Dec-03-2008 03:38:

God, this is pathetic....

I almost hope the Raps lose the next few in a row so Sam Mitchell can be shown the door. We've been through this the last few seasons with a short period of what definately now looks like getting lucky. We have loads of talent on this team...we should be better than this.

Posted by jon jon on Dec-03-2008 03:41:

fuck this game

Posted by Zentac_75 on Dec-03-2008 03:49:

I love the NBA. Coach of the year in 06....roasting on the fire in 08.

I was expecting Collangelo to have built a legitimate playoff team by now.

Bargnani can't play D.

Why can't any team I cheer for have any sort of success ?!?!?!

Posted by gummybear on Dec-03-2008 03:49:

double fuck this game...and triple fuck the guy who replaced chuck....he is as passionless about the raps as they are about themselves....

Posted by slingshot on Dec-03-2008 04:01:

I'm actually kind of liking Devlin now...he's telling it like it is. You can tell by his commentary that he definately has the "wtf is wrong this team and why do they keep making all these stupid plays" state of mind.
