Yeah - last week I worked 7-3 and 11-7 in the same twenty four hour period - it was wretched.

At least when I get home tomorrow the lot of you will be getting to work, so you can entertain me while I smoke myself to sleep.

One day in and so far so good - so long as it stays busy, I think it's going to be good because time really did seem to cruise by.

Time for a shower then to smoke my face off.

Day two for me is always the worst when I am getting back to third shift (10p-8a). I work rotating - about every 4 weeks I work 100 hours in about 12 days (6 on - 2 off - 4 on - 5 off then back to days)

I am heading to bed after night 4 of training a fresh guy to our group. 2 more to go on this set - and 6 total left until about 2 months of days.

Woot@

Hell, suffering through many a night shift has earned me a 5AM-2PM, Monday-Friday shift, so I can certainly say that it was worth it.

Sleeping during the day is definitely going to be the hardest part for me - I could only really get a handful of hours this afternoon, so I'm definitely hoping I don't crash at some point tonight.

in the winter it can be hella annoying... i was working late hours 3 or 4 days a week last winter and i barely saw any natural light most of the week...

Definitely thinking about getting a UV light and/or just setting up one of my grow lamps near my treadmill for the Winter.

I'm definitely a classic S.A.D. case, so a lack of sunlight is definitely a worry.

Take a calcium + vitamin D supplement.

I am not sure if you want a UV light - but rather a full spectrum light. I have two in various places throughout the house - and it makes a HUGE difference (especially up here in Alaska) when I am working third shift.

/edit

I fail. I guess UV light = full spectrum. Guess my mind is shot after a 5 hour sleep. Yay night shift!

third shift is fun. I did it for a Summer a few years ago.

I'm a night owl though... so it was easy for me. If you go to bed early (before 2), it might be rough.
